How do I pair my LG TONE Free TONE-FP7C earbuds with my phone?

Open the charging case and press and hold the pairing button on the case for 2-3 seconds until the LED blinks white. Then select 'LG TONE Free FP7C' in your phone's Bluetooth settings. For Google Fast Pair, a pop-up will appear on Android devices.

How do I reset the earbuds if I encounter connection issues?

Place the earbuds in the charging case, close it, and wait 10 seconds. Then open the case and press and hold the pairing button for 15 seconds until the LED blinks red twice. This resets the earbuds to factory settings.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge the earbuds?

The earbuds provide up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge, and the case holds an additional 16 hours for a total of 24 hours. Charge using the included USB-C cable or place the case on a Qi wireless charger.

Are the earbuds water resistant?

Yes, they have an IPX4 rating, meaning they are splash proof and resistant to sweat and light rain. Do not submerge in water.

What is UVnano technology and how do I use it?

The UVnano charging case uses ultraviolet light to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria on the earbud mesh. It activates automatically when the earbuds are placed in the case and the case is closed and connected to power. Ensure the earbuds are dry before charging.

Can I use just one earbud at a time?

Yes, you can use either the left or right earbud independently. Simply take out one earbud from the case and it will automatically connect. The other earbud can remain in the case.

How do I activate Ambient Sound Mode?

Tap and hold the touchpad on either earbud for 2 seconds to toggle between Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Ambient Sound Mode. You can also use the LG TONE Free app to customize settings.

1. Overview

2. How to pair

1 Turn on the Bluetooth function on the mobile phone or the device to be connected.
② Open the cover of the charging case with the earbuds mounted on the case. Press and hold the touchpad of the left or right earbud for 3 to 5 seconds until the battery status indicator blinks blue.

3 When the Fast Pair connection pop-up appears on the top area of the mobile phone screen, tap it to connect.

- It only supports Android™ 6.0 or higher, and requires configuring Bluetooth and location information settings of the mobile device.

4 If the pop-up does not appear, select [LG-TONE-FP7] from the Bluetooth menu on the mobile phone and connect it (for users of iOS or Android 5.0 or lower versions).

CAUTION: In the list of Bluetooth connected devices, LG-TONE-FP7_LE is not the correct model name for connection. Check the model name in use and connect with the model name without "LE".

If the earbud model name is abnormally displayed on the Android device, change the model name in the Bluetooth menu of Connected Device Settings.

3. Wearing Earbuds

1 Separate the earbuds from the charging case and adjust them so that they fit comfortably in your ears.

NOTE: Choose the ear gels that best fit your ears to improve Active Noise Canceling (ANC) performance.

4. Playing Music

Function Description
Play / Pause	: Touch the left or right earbud once.
Adjusting the Volume	: Touch the left (Decrease volume) or right (Increase volume) earbud twice.
Play Next	: Touch the left or right earbud three times.

NOTE: You can change the operation method of the function in the touchpad settings of the LG TONE Free app.

Once you turn on the Plug and Wireless mode, the earbuds reacts to your touch as follows:

• Touch it once to mute or unmute the sound.
• Touch it twice to adjust the volume.
• Touching it three times triggers no response.

5. Placing a Call

6. Listen to the Ambient Sound (LAS), Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

The Listen to the Ambient Sound (LAS) function allows you to listen to the ambient sound so that you can recognize the surrounding situation and any potential risks.

[Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)]

The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) function blocks out ambient sound. Use the function to listen to music or watch a video.

Touch and hold the left or right earbud to switch between the ANC mode and the LAS mode.

You can set the LAS and ANC functions in the LG TONE Free app.

You can configure the Listen to the Ambient Sound mode and Conversation mode using the LG TONE Free app.

If you use the LAS or ANC function, the battery consumes faster, reducing the time you can use the product.

You can use the LAS and ANC functions while being idle, listening to music, or being on the phone.

*ANC is an acronym for Active Noise Cancellation.

CAUTION: When the LAS mode is enabled, you may hear the ambient sound become loud suddenly. When using the ANC function outdoors, pay attention to the surrounding environment for safety.

7. UVnano

The charging case has a built-in UVnano LED, which allows you to sanitize your earbuds' speaker mesh.

The UVnano LED operates for 5 minutes when mounted in the charging case while it is being charged via a wired connection.

*UVnano is a compound word derived from the words UV and its unit, nanometer.

NOTE: The UVnano LED indicator turns blue when on.

Independent tests show case kills 99.9% of bacteria on speaker mesh of earbuds in 5 min while charging. Function works only when case connected to power.

In the case of a white product, discoloring may occur in the contact area of the UVnano LED, but it does not affect the product function.

CAUTION: Be aware that the temperature of the earbuds may rise while the UVnano LED is on.

8. Charging

When the charging cable is connected, the charging status is displayed in the charging case.

NOTE: The earbuds and the charging case are charged at the same time. The charging port on the charging case cannot be used to supply power to mobile phones, etc.

9. Plug and Wireless Mode (External Device Connection Mode)

You can connect the charging case to a device such as an airplane stereo system, treadmill, cassette player, radio, and TV to listen with the earbuds.

How to Connect

1 Connect the USB-C™ side of the USB-C™ to AUX cable to the charging case.
2 Connect the AUX side to a device you want to use.

3 Wear the earbuds.
4 Push the Plug and Wireless Mode switch to the right to turn on the mode.
5 The indicator on the charging case flashes in green.
6 Once the charging case is connected to the earbuds, the indicator turns off.

How to Disconnect

1 Push the Plug and Wireless Mode switch to the left.
2 The indicator on the charging case flashes in blue.
3 Once disconnected from the charging case, the earbuds reconnect to the device that was previously connected.

-If the device is not found, the earbuds enter the Connection Ready mode.

NOTE: You cannot use the LG TONE Free app, but the EQ and touchpad settings are maintained as is. (Touch operation: Refer to the Playing Music section.)

The earbuds do not support the call function.

The USB-C ^™ to AUX cable does not support the charging function.

The earbuds may not be compatible with some devices, and a separate adapter (sold separately) may be necessary to use a port on some airplane seats.

If you use the earbuds for a long duration, the battery of the earbuds (including the charging case) may drain faster than when physically connected to a smartphone.

10. Checking the Battery Status

If earbuds are mounted in the charging case, the earbuds' battery status is displayed. Otherwise, the charging case's battery status is displayed. If the earbuds are mounted in the charging case while plugged in, the UVnano process will commence for 5 minutes. Once this process is complete, the charging case's battery status will be displayed.

NOTE: When the charging case lid is closed, charging case battery status is displayed. If the charging case has no remaining charge, there will be no display and it cannot function. We recommend you keep the charging case charged at all times as the earbuds are not able to be turned on and turned off independently.

The following safety precautions are provided to prevent any unexpected accident or damage. Please familiarize yourself with the safety precautions. The safety precautions are classified into "WARNING" and "CAUTION".

Do not drop the product from a high place.

Make sure there is no water, alcohol, or benzene in contact with the product.

Do not store the product in a wet or dusty place.

Do not place heavy objects on the product.

Earbuds tested under controlled laboratory conditions with an IPX4 rating.

Resistant to splashed water. Dry before using. Do not charge while wet.

Case has not been tested for IPX4.

CAUTION

Do not disassemble, adjust, or repair the product.

Do not place the product near excessive heat or flammable material.

The product may be damaged if an incompatible charger is used.

Keep small components of the product away from infants or children.

Make sure that foreign objects do not enter the charger's connectors (charging port and power plug). Foreign objects in the charger's connectors may result in fire or electric shock.

If you have a medical device implanted, contact your doctor before using this device.

For your safety, do not remove the battery incorporated in the product.

This product has a built-in battery, and the battery cannot be removed or replaced.

If you arbitrarily replace the battery or don't replace it correctly, it may explode.

The lithium-ion battery is a hazardous component that can cause injury.

Battery replacement by an unqualified professional can cause damage to your device.

Do not discard the battery arbitrarily. Follow the local procedure for discarding batteries.

In order to prevent unnecessary energy consumption, disconnect the device when fully charged. Always use an easily accessible power outlet for charging your device.

Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

Do not store or transport at pressures lower than 0.116 bar (11.6 kPa) and at above 9.32 miles (15,000 m) altitude.

Replacement of a battery with an incorrect type that can defeat a safeguard (for example, in the case of some lithium battery types).

Disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, may result in an explosion.

Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

Do not carelessly throw away old batteries. It can cause an explosion or fire. The disposal method may vary by country and region. Dispose of it in an appropriate manner.

NOTE

If the product is exposed to excessive sweat, Clean the product with dry cloth.

Keep the earbuds clean.

Troubleshooting

If you see any of the following symptoms while using the product, make sure to recheck it. It may not be a malfunction.

1. Radio frequency exposure

This Bluetooth LG Stereo Headset is a radio transmitter and receiver. When in operation, it communicates with a Bluetooth-equipped mobile device by receiving and transmitting radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (microwaves) in the frequency range 2402 to 2480 MHz.

Your Bluetooth headset is designed to operate in compliance with the RF exposure guidelines and limits set by national authorities and international health agencies when used with any compatible mobile phone.

2. Bluetooth connection precautions

The following environments affect the range and reception of Bluetooth signals:

-When walls, metal, human bodies, or other obstacles exist between the Bluetooth device and the connected device.
-When equipment that uses 2.4 GHz frequency signals (wireless LANs, wireless phones, microwave ovens, etc.) is placed near the devices being used.

3. Potentially explosive atmosphere

4. Emergency calls

IMPORTANT!

This Bluetooth headset and the electronic device connected to the headset operate using radio signals and mobile and landline networks as well as user-programmed functions, which cannot guarantee connection under all conditions. Therefore, you should never rely solely upon any electronic device for essential communications (e.g., medical emergencies). Remember, in order to make or receive calls, the headset and the electronic device connected to the headset must be switched on and in a service area with adequate mobile signal strength. Emergency calls may not be possible on all mobile phone networks or when certain network services and/or phone features are in use. Check with your local service provider.

5. Battery information

A rechargeable battery has a long service life if treated properly. A new battery or one that has not been used for a long period of time could have reduced capacity the first few times it is used. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures, never above +122°F (+50°C) or below +14°F (-10°C). For maximum battery capacity, use the battery at room temperature. If the battery is used in low temperatures, the battery capacity will be reduced. The battery can only be charged in temperatures between +32°F (0°C) and +113°F (+45°C).

6. Recycling the battery in your Bluetooth headset

The battery in your Bluetooth headset must be disposed of properly and should never be placed in municipal waste.

In case rechargeable battery is included in this product, the entire device should be recycled in compliance with rechargeable battery recycling

Important Safety Information

Avoiding hearing damage

Permanent hearing loss may occur if you use your headset at a high volume.

Set the volume to a safe level. Over time you can become accustomed to a higher volume that may sound normal but can be damaging to your hearing.

If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech, stop listening and have your hearing checked. The louder the volume, the less time that is required before your hearing could be affected.

Hearing experts suggest that to protect your hearing:

• Limit the amount of time you use the headset at a high volume.

Use of headsets to listen to music while operating a vehicle is not recommended and is illegal in some areas. Be careful and attentive while driving. Should your LG TONE Free ("Product") fail due to a defect in materials or workmanship under normal and proper use, during the warranty period set forth below, LG Electronics ("LG") will, at its option, repair or replace the Product. This limited warranty is valid only to the original purchaser of the Product and applies only when purchased lawfully and used within the United States including U.S. Territories.

LG'S TOTAL LIABILITY, IF ANY, SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY THE CUSTOMER FOR THE PRODUCT.

SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

-Damage or loss to programs, data, or removable storage media.

-Damage or failure of the Product caused by improper set-up or adjustment on consumer controls.

-Damage or failure of the Product caused by transportation and/or handling, including scratches, dents, chips, and/or other damage to the finish of your Product, unless such damage results from a defect in materials or workmanship and is reported within one (1) week of delivery (Call: 1-800-243-0000).

-Damage or failure of the Product from other than normal intended use.

-Damage or failure of Product caused by incorrect electrical current or voltage (including power surge), power failures, interruptions or inadequate electrical service, including incorrect or insufficient AC supply.

-Damage or failure of the Product resulting from misuse, abuse, improper installation or operation of the Product contrary to the Product owner's manual and/or installation manual.

-Damage or failure of the Product caused by accidents, liquid, pests and vermin, lightning, wind, fire, flood, or other acts of nature.

-Damage or failure of the Product caused by abnormal conditions or an environment where the temperature and humidity is not adequately controlled.

-Damage or failure of the Product caused by the use of accessories, parts, consumable cleaning products, or service not provided or approved by LG.

-Damage or failure of the Product or missing items to any Product sold "As Is", "With all Faults" or similar disclaimer.

-Products with original serial numbers that have been removed, altered, or cannot be readily determined.

-Replacement of any consumable parts including batteries.

-Minor imperfections that do not materially alter or affect functionality.

The cost of repair or replacement under the above excluded circumstances shall be borne by you.

PROCEDURE FOR RESOLVING DISPUTES:

ALL DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND LG ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR THE PRODUCT SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH BINDING ARBITRATION, AND NOT IN A COURT OF GENERAL JURISDICTION. BINDING ARBITRATION MEANS THAT YOU AND LG ARE EACH WAIVING THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION.

Definitions. For the purposes of this section, references to "LG" mean LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc., its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, and each of their officers, directors, employees, agents, beneficiaries, predecessors in interest, successors, assigns and suppliers; references to "dispute" or "claim" shall include any dispute, claim or controversy of any kind whatsoever (whether based in contract, tort, statute, regulation, ordinance, fraud, misrepresentation or any other legal or equitable theory) arising out of or relating in any way to the sale, condition or performance of the product or this Limited Warranty.

Notice of Dispute. In the event you intend to commence an arbitration proceeding, you must first notify LG in writing at least 30 days in advance of initiating the arbitration by sending a letter to LG at LG Electronics, USA, Inc. Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632, USA. You and LG agree to engage in good faith discussions in an attempt to amicably resolve your claim. The notice must provide your name, address, and telephone number; identify the product that is the subject of the claim; and describe the nature of the claim and the relief being sought. If you and LG are unable to resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may proceed to file a claim for arbitration.

Agreement to Binding Arbitration and Class Action Waiver. Upon failure to resolve the dispute during the 30 day period after sending written notice to LG, you and LG agree to resolve any claims between us only by binding arbitration on an individual basis, unless you opt out as provided below. Any dispute between you and LG shall not be combined or consolidated with a dispute involving any other person's or entity's product or claim. More specifically, without limitation of the foregoing, any dispute between you and LG shall not under any circumstances proceed as part of a class or representative action. Instead of arbitration, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court, but that small claims court action may not be brought on a class or representative basis.

Arbitration Rules and Procedures. To begin arbitration of a claim, either you or LG must make a written demand for arbitration. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") and will be conducted before a single arbitrator under the AAA's Consumer

Arbitration Rules that are in effect at the time the arbitration is initiated (referred to as the “AAA Rules”) and under the procedures set forth in this section. The AAA Rules are available online at www.adr.org/consumer. Send a copy of your written demand for arbitration, as well as a copy of this provision, to the AAA in the manner described in the AAA Rules. You must also send a copy of your written demand to LG at LG Electronics, USA, Inc. Attn: Legal Department- Arbitration 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ 07632, USA. If there is a conflict between the AAA Rules and the rules set forth in this section, the rules set forth in this section will govern. This arbitration provision is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Judgment may be entered on the arbitrator’s award in any court of competent jurisdiction. All issues are for the arbitrator to decide, except that issues relating to the scope and enforceability of the arbitration provision and to the arbitrability of the dispute are for the court to decide. The arbitrator is bound by the terms of this provision.

Governing Law. The law of the state of your residence shall govern this Limited Warranty and any disputes between us except to the extent that such law is preempted by or inconsistent with applicable federal law.

Fees/Costs. You do not need to pay any fee to begin an arbitration. Upon receipt of your written demand for arbitration, LG will promptly pay all arbitration filing fees to the AAA unless you seek more than \$25,000 in damages, in which case the payment of these fees will be governed by the AAA Rules. Except as otherwise provided for herein, LG will pay all AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees for any arbitration initiated in accordance with the AAA Rules and this arbitration provision. If you prevail in the

arbitration, LG will pay your attorneys' fees and expenses as long as they are reasonable, by considering factors including, but not limited to, the purchase amount and claim amount. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if applicable law allows for an award of reasonable attorneys' fees and expenses, an arbitrator can award them to the same extent that a court would. If the arbitrator finds either the substance of your claim or the relief sought in the demand is frivolous or brought for an improper purpose (as measured by the standards set forth in Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 11(b)), then the payment of all arbitration fees will be governed by the AAA Rules. In such a situation, you agree to reimburse LG for all monies previously disbursed by it that are otherwise your obligation to pay under the AAA Rules. Except as otherwise provided for, LG waives any rights it may have to seek attorneys' fees and expenses from you if LG prevails in the arbitration.

Hearings and Location. If your claim is for \25,000 or less, you may choose to have the arbitration conducted solely on the basis of (1) documents submitted to the arbitrator, (2) through a telephonic hearing, or (3) by an in-person hearing as established by the AAA Rules. If your claim exceeds \25,000, the right to a hearing will be determined by the AAA Rules. Any in-person arbitration hearings will be held at a location within the federal judicial district in which you reside unless we both agree to another location or we agree to a telephonic arbitration.

Opt Out. You may opt out of this dispute resolution procedure. If you opt out, neither you nor LG can require the other to participate in an arbitration proceeding. To opt out, you must send notice to LG no later than 30 calendar days from the date of the first consumer purchaser's purchase of

the product by either: (i) sending an e-mail to [e-mail], with the subject line: "Arbitration Opt Out" or (ii) calling 800-980-2973. You must include in the opt out e-mail or provide by telephone: (a) your name and address; (b) the date on which the product was purchased; (c) the product model name or model number; and (d) the serial number (the serial number can be found (i) on the product; or (ii) online by accessing https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair-continued and clicking on "Find My Model & Serial Number").

You may only opt out of the dispute resolution procedure in the manner described above (that is, by e-mail or telephone); no other form of notice will be effective to opt out of this dispute resolution procedure. Opting out of this dispute resolution procedure will not affect the coverage of the Limited Warranty in any way, and you will continue to enjoy the full benefits of the Limited Warranty. If you keep this product and do not opt out, then you accept all terms and conditions of the arbitration provision described above.
