How do I reset the Panasonic VL-VN1700 to factory defaults?

Press and hold the Reset button on the bottom of the monitor for 10 seconds until the screen blinks. This will erase all settings.

Can I view the camera on a smartphone?

No, the VL-VN1700 does not have network connectivity. It is a wired system only.
