How do I connect the LMU1 microphone to my computer?

Connect the LM8 lavalier microphone to the 3.5 mm microphone input of the UP1 USB adapter. Then plug the UP1's USB-C connector (or use the included USB-A adapter) into a USB port on your computer. The LED lights white to indicate proper connection.

How do I mute or unmute the microphone?

Press the MUTE button on the UP1 adapter to toggle mute. The LED turns red when muted and white during normal operation.

Which operating systems are compatible with the LMU1?

The LMU1 is compatible with macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.

What is the frequency response of the microphone?

The microphone frequency response is 12 Hz to 18 kHz with a tolerance of +0/-1 dB.

How do I adjust the playback volume and microphone gain?

Volume and gain must be adjusted using the host device (computer, smartphone, tablet) settings. There are no hardware controls on the UP1 adapter for these adjustments.

What are the dimensions and weight of the LMU1?

Without the USB adapter, dimensions are 210 mm x 24 mm x 15.75 mm and weight is 19 g. With the USB adapter, dimensions are 242 mm x 24 mm x 15.75 mm and weight is 25 g.

Can I use the LMU1 with a headset instead of the lavalier microphone?

The LMU1 bundle includes the LM8 lavalier microphone only. However, the DEU1 bundle (sold separately) includes a DE5 headset for use with the same UP1 adapter.

How should I clean the LMU1 microphone?

Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid liquids or abrasive cleaners. Do not submerge in water. Store in a cool, dry place.

What does the LED indicator color mean?

A white LED indicates normal operation and proper USB connection. A red LED indicates the microphone is muted using the MUTE button.

Quick Start

1. Connect LM8 (LMU1 bundle) or DE5 (DEU1 bundle) to UP1's threaded 3.5 mm (1/8") microphone input jack. Headphones or earbuds can be connected to the 1/8" headphone output jack depending on user's application.
2. Plug the USB-C, or USB-A adapter into a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smart device. LED lights white indicating proper connection.
3. NOTE: Playback volume and microphone gain must be adjusted using the host device, such as a computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
4. Press MUTE button to mute or un-mute audio signal from connected microphone (LM8 or DE5). MUTE = RED color LED, WHITE color LED is normal operation.
