Frequently Asked Questions - MacroMIX ART

What is the ART MacroMIX?
The ART MacroMIX is a 4-channel personal mixer designed to mix audio signals from multiple sources (e.g., CD player, synthesizer, bass amp) into a single output for recording or monitoring.
What power supply does the MacroMIX require?
It requires a 12V DC power adapter (included). Connect it to the 12V DC input and plug into a 120V AC outlet.
What types of inputs does the MacroMIX have?
It has four channels: Channel 1 and 2 have dual L/R RCA inputs; Channel 3 offers a choice of one 1/4" or dual L/R RCA; Channel 4 has a single 1/4" unbalanced input.
What are the output options on the MacroMIX?
It has dual L/R RCA outputs and a combined 1/4" Line Out/Stereo Headphone jack for monitoring or connecting to powered monitors.
How do I connect my devices to the MacroMIX?
Connect stereo sources (e.g., CD player) to the RCA inputs on channels 1 and 2. Connect instruments or line outputs to the 1/4" inputs on channels 3 and 4. Use unbalanced shielded cables.
Can I use headphones with the MacroMIX?
Yes, plug headphones into the 1/4" Line/Headphone output jack. For louder output, connect this jack to a powered monitor or headphone amplifier.
What are the technical specifications of the MacroMIX?
Key specs: Input impedance 10 kOhms (all inputs), gain 32/26 dB, S/N ratio >90 dB, THD <0.008%, IMD <0.008%.
How do I adjust the mix level?
Use the four Level controls on the front panel to adjust the volume of each input channel independently to achieve the desired mix.
What should I do if there is no sound output?
Check that power is connected and the unit is on. Verify all cables are securely connected and input sources are active. Ensure the Level controls are turned up. Try using the headphone output to isolate the issue.

Usage:

a.) Connect the AC adapter cable to the 12V DC Input on the MacroMIX, and plug the other end into a 120V AC power outlet.
b.) Connect your various signal sources to the appropriate Inputs on the MacroMIX with unbalanced shielded cables. Electric instruments or amplifier line outputs would go to the 1/4" input on channel 3 and/or 4. Stereo sources (tape deck, CD player, etc.) would be connected to the RCA Inputs on channels 1 and 2.
c.) Connect headphones to the Line/Headphone output. Alternatively, this jack can be connected to the stereo inputs of a powered monitor speaker or a headphone amplifier if added headphone loudness is required.
d.) Connect the MacroMIX's stereo RCA Outputs to the L&R inputs on your tape deck, PC, or a PA mixer with stereo inputs.
e.) Adjust the Level controls for the desired mix.
