USER MANUAL PX03SN Supermicro
PX03SN SERIES ENTERPRISE READ INTENSIVE SSD
The PX03SN series is optimized for read-intensive, and low-write-duty applications in server and storage systems and features a 12 Gbit/s [1] SAS interface. The eSSDs are available with capacities of 200, 400, 800 GB [2] as well as 1.6 TB, built with MLC NAND Flash Memory and support 1 DWPD [3] (Drive Write Per Day) with a 100 % random data, 4KiB [4] workload. The drives deliver random write speeds up to 26,000 IOPS [5] and random read speeds up to 130,000 IOPS. The PX03SN series offers high performance enterprise-class solid-state storage suitable for cost sensitive and read-intensive applications characterized with infrequent write operations or predominantly large block & sequential data pattern workloads.

Toshiba's TCG SED [6] option (PX03SNQ/U) is designed to the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) industry-standard "Enterprise" Security Sub-Classification (SSC), and provides for both access security and full-disk encryption with SIE [7] (Sanitize Instant Erase) capability.

[1] Read and write speed may vary depending on the host device, read and write conditions, and file size.
[2] Definition of capacity: Toshiba defines a megabyte (MB) as 1,000,000 bytes, a gigabyte (GB) as 1,000,000,000 bytes and a terabyte (TB) as 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. A computer operating system, however, reports storage capacity using powers of 2 for the definition of 1GB = 2-30 = 1,073,741,824 bytes and therefore shows less storage capacity. Available storage capacity (including examples of various media files) will vary based on file size, formatting, settings, software and operating system, such as Microsoft Operating System and/or pre-installed software applications, or media content. Actual formatted capacity may vary.
[3] DWPD: Drive Write Per Day. One full drive write per day means the drive can be written and re-written to full capacity once a day every day for five years, the stated product warranty period. Actual results may vary due to system configuration, usage and other factors.
[4] A kibibyte (KiB) means 210 , or 1,024 bytes, a mebibyte (MiB) means 220 , or 1,048,576 bytes, and a gibibyte (GiB) means 230 , or 1,073,471,824 bytes.
[5] IOPS: Input Output Per Second (or the number of I/O operations per second)
[6] SED: Self-Encrypting Drive
[7] SIE: Sanitize Instant Erase. SIE is compatible with Sanitize Device Feature set. Sanitize Device Feature set is the standard prescribed by T10(SAS) and T13(SATA) committees of American National Standards Association (ANSI), which makes it possible to invalidate the data recorded on the magnetic disks at a blink.
[8] PLP (Power Loss Protection): PLP supports to record data in buffer memory to NAND flash memory, utilizing back up power of solid capacitor in case of sudden supply shut down.
[9] Data can be accessed in fixed-block length units. The data block length is programmable, and can be specified at initializing with a multiple of 8 within the range of 512 to 528 bytes, or with a multiple of 64 within the range of 4,096 to 4,224 bytes

[15] P1 to P3 are +3.3V power supply input and pre-charge signals, and not used on the PX02SMB / PX02SMF series.
