Frequently Asked Questions - TT718PRO Epcom

How do I set up the Epcom TT718PRO AV extender?
Connect the HDMI source to the transmitter unit, then connect an Ethernet cable (CAT5e or CAT6) from the transmitter's RJ45 port to the receiver's RJ45 port. Finally, connect the receiver to the display via HDMI. Power both units using the included USB cables or adapters.
What is the maximum distance the extender can transmit?
The TT718PRO can transmit HDMI signals up to 50 meters over a single CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable.
Does it support 4K resolution?
No, the TT718PRO supports resolutions up to 1080p @ 60Hz. For 4K, please consider other models.
Can I use any Ethernet cable?
For best performance, use CAT5e or CAT6 cables. Shielded cables are recommended for long runs to reduce interference.
Why is my display showing no signal?
Check all connections: ensure HDMI cables are securely plugged, Ethernet cable is properly connected, and both transmitter and receiver are powered on. Try a different Ethernet cable or shorter distance.
Does the extender require separate power for both units?
Yes, both transmitter and receiver need 5V DC power. They can be powered via USB ports or the included power adapters.
Can I extend HDMI from a gaming console?
Yes, as long as the console outputs HDMI and the resolution is 1080p or lower. For example, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are compatible.
Is the extender compatible with HDCP?
Yes, the TT718PRO supports HDCP 1.4 pass-through, allowing playback of protected content.
How do I clean and maintain the extender?
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners. Keep the device away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
What should I do if the extender gets hot?
The device may become warm during normal operation. Ensure proper ventilation and do not cover the vents. If overheating occurs, unplug and let it cool down.
