Frequently Asked Questions - NI-22AWTXJ PANASONIC

How do I set the correct temperature for different fabrics?
Use the fabric dial on the iron. Start with low temperature for synthetic fabrics, then increase for wool, cotton, and linen. The iron heats up faster than it cools, so wait a few minutes when switching from high to low temperature.
What does the pilot lamp indicate?
The pilot lamp glows when the iron is switched on and turns off when the selected temperature is reached. It will cycle on and off as the thermostat maintains the temperature.
Can I use the iron on all fabric types?
Yes, but you must adjust the temperature dial according to the fabric. Always iron synthetics at low temperature first to avoid damage.
What should I do if the power cord is damaged?
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service agent or similarly qualified person to avoid hazard. Do not use the iron.
How do I clean the iron?
Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate and body with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.
Can I leave the iron unattended while plugged in?
No, never leave the iron unattended while it is connected to the mains. Always disconnect the power plug when leaving the room, even for a short time.
What voltage does the iron require?
The iron works with 220-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz. Check the voltage indicated on the iron to match your local supply.
How long does it take to heat up?
Allow the iron to heat for about 2 minutes on its heel rest before ironing. The pilot lamp will turn off when ready.
Is the iron suitable for vertical steaming?
No, this is a dry iron without steam function. It is not designed for vertical steaming.
How should I store the iron after use?
Place the iron on a stable heel rest, allow it to cool completely, then wrap the cord loosely around the base. Store in a dry place.

  3. The pilot lamp glows when the iron is switched on, and goes off when the iron is heated up to the temperature selected by the fabric dial. The lamp will remain off as long as the iron keeps the selected temperature and as the temperature decreases, the thermostat will start working, and the lamp will glow again. The thermostat makes the pilot adjust automatically to the varying temperature as being selected by the fabric dial.
  4. First iron chemical synthetic fabric at low temperature, and then, as the temperature rises, iron wool, cotton and linen accordingly. The iron heats more quickly than it cools.
