How do I descale the GCC15 coffee maker?

Use a commercial descaling solution. Fill the water tank with the solution and water (ratio per instructions), then run a brewing cycle without coffee. Rinse thoroughly with clean water after descaling.

How often should I clean the brew group?

We recommend cleaning the brew group daily, especially if you brew high volumes. Remove the brew group and rinse under running water. Let it dry before reinserting.

What type of coffee beans should I use?

The GCC15 works best with medium to dark roast beans. Avoid oily beans as they can clog the grinder. Use freshly roasted beans for optimal flavor.

My coffee is too weak. What can I do?

Check the grind setting: a finer grind gives stronger coffee. Also adjust the coffee-to-water ratio via the programmable settings. Ensure the water temperature is high enough (above 90°C).

How do I replace the grinder burrs?

Turn off and unplug the machine. Remove the bean hopper and the burr chamber. Use a screwdriver to remove the old burrs. Install new burrs and reassemble. Refer to the manual for exact steps.

The machine is leaking water. What should I do?

Check the water tank seal and ensure it is properly seated. Inspect the drip tray for overflow. If leaking from the brew group, it may need cleaning or a new gasket. Contact support if the issue persists.

Can I use the hot water dispenser for tea?

Yes, the hot water dispenser provides clean, near-boiling water perfect for tea or other hot beverages.

How do I adjust the brew temperature?

Access the settings menu on the digital display. Navigate to 'Brew Temp' and adjust using the + or - buttons. Save your settings before exiting.

The steam wand is not frothing milk properly. Why?

Ensure the steam wand tip is clean and free of milk residue. Submerge the tip just below the milk surface and open the steam valve completely. Use cold, fresh milk for best results.

2.0 HOW TO USE

The standard GCC conveyor system allows you to load your green coffee beans into the hopper without having to lift up buckets with coffee. Simply load your coffee into the GCC hopper and the system transports the coffee to the hopper on your roaster.

1. Make sure the valve underneath the GCC hopper is closed When this valve isn't closed, coffee will fall on the ground

1. Open the valve underneath the GCC hopper When this valve is opened, the coffee will be transported to the roasters' hopper

1. When the GCC hopper is empty and all the coffee is in the roasters' hopper, you can operate the main switch again to turn off the system.

3.0 ADDITIONAL GCC FEATURES

3.1 WEIGHING CELLS

The weighing cells allow you to read out how much coffee is being transported to your roasters' hopper. When your GCC system is equipped with this option, your system will have an additional control panel. You can use this control panel to tare your scales, change units and many more options. Please refer to the METTLER TOLEDO manual for full instructions on this control panel.

3.2 AUTOMATIC VALVE

Your GCC system can be equipped with an automatic release valve. This means you don't have to open the valve manually but you can open the valve with a button on your roasters' control panel.

3.3 DUST CYCLONE (W140A ONLY)

The W140A GCC system can be equipped with an additional dust cyclone. This device will be turned on at the same time as the GCC and will prevent dust and other debris from entering the hopper of the roaster. The dust cyclone can be installed between the normal tubing of the GCC.

4.0 MAINTENANCE

Maintenance is important to keep your GCC system in good condition. In case of the GCC that means that the air filtration system needs to be cleaned weekly. This chapter describes the steps you need to take to do this.

1. Open the GCC vacuum box
2. Open the air filter box by loosening the four clips that hold the lid in place

NOTE: The air filter needs to be replaced from time-to-time. On which frequency this occurs depends on the amount of usage and can be seen on the general condition of the air filter. Every GCC system comes with a spare air filter that you can use when the first one is too dirty. When you need an additional spare air filter, please contact Giesen support.
