Frequently Asked Questions - 688172 CaterChef

Why does the pizza oven switch off by itself during operation?
This is likely due to the overheat protection feature. Allow the oven to cool down completely, ensure the ambient temperature is between 20-25°C, and restart. If the problem persists, contact a service technician.
What is the maximum temperature of the CaterChef 688172?
The maximum temperature is 350°C. The oven heats up very quickly, so monitor the temperature closely.
How do I preheat the oven correctly?
Set the lower (and middle, if using) thermostat to the desired temperature, at least 200°C. The orange indicator light will turn off once the temperature is reached. Preheat for a few minutes before placing food inside.
Can I use both baking chambers at the same time?
Yes, the double version (688172) has two separate chambers with independent controls. You can use both simultaneously or just one to save energy.
How should I clean the pizza oven after use?
First, switch off the oven and unplug it. Allow it to cool completely. Remove the chamotte bases. Clean the interior with a damp cloth and a small amount of detergent. Dry thoroughly. Never rinse with water or use a stainless steel brush.
Is it safe to move the oven while it's hot?
No, never move the oven during operation or while it is still hot. Wait until it has cooled down completely (at least 30 minutes after switching off) before moving it.
What should I do if the oven does not start?
Check that the plug is properly inserted into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the thermostat is set to a temperature. If it still does not start, contact a qualified technician.
How can I save energy when using the double version?
If you are not using the upper baking chamber, activate only the lower and middle thermostats. This reduces power consumption while still providing sufficient heat for the bottom chamber.
What accessories come with the pizza oven?
The oven includes chamotte bases (pizza stones) that should be placed inside before use. They help distribute heat evenly for better cooking results.
How long should I let the oven cool down before cleaning?
After switching off the oven, allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. The oven can remain very hot during this period. Do not touch any parts except the control panel and door handle until it has cooled completely.
