Frequently Asked Questions - UT-MILAN18 Ursus Trotter

How do I use the Ursus Trotter UT-MILAN18 kettle?
Fill the kettle with at least 0.7 liters of water (max 1.8 L), close the lid, place on the base, plug in, and press the on/off switch. The kettle will heat and switch off automatically when boiling. You can also use the temperature dial to set a specific temperature.
What is the maximum water capacity?
The maximum capacity is 1.8 liters. Do not fill above the 'max' mark to avoid spilling hot water.
What should I do before first use?
Before first use, boil three full kettles of water and discard the water to remove any manufacturing residues. You can also add a little vinegar or use a descaling agent.
How do I clean the kettle?
Unplug and let cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. For the interior, use a damp cloth with washing soda or a vinegar solution. Never immerse the kettle in water or use abrasive cleaners.
How do I descale the kettle?
Though the integrated heating element resists limescale, you can descale by boiling a mixture of vinegar and water to the MAX level, letting it sit for a few hours, then rinsing thoroughly. Repeat with clean water. Use only vinegar or special descalers, not ammonia.
What does the overheating safeguard do?
The overheating safeguard automatically switches off the kettle if it is operated without enough water. Let the kettle cool for at least 10 minutes before using again.
Can I use the kettle to heat other liquids?
No, the kettle is designed only for boiling water. Do not use it for milk, oil, or other liquids as it may cause damage or injury.
Why does the kettle switch off automatically?
The kettle has an automatic shut-off feature that turns it off when the water reaches a rolling boil or if the kettle is lifted off the base. This ensures safety and energy efficiency.
How do I set the desired temperature?
Turn the temperature dial on the handle to your preferred setting (e.g., 70°C for green tea, 100°C for boiling). The kettle will heat to that temperature and then automatically keep warm (if designed) or switch off.
Is the kettle safe to leave unattended?
The kettle has automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection, so it is generally safe. However, never leave it unattended while in use, especially when children are present.
