1. Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated.
2. Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
3. Heed Warnings - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.

5. Setup – The apparatus should only be placed on a stable, flat surface. Do not let the apparatus fall down or expose it to shock.

Setting a safe volume level

• If you continually listen to loud music, your hearing gradually adapts to it and gives you the impression that the volume is lower.
  • What seems normal to you can be already for long time too loud and unhealthy.
  • To protect yourself from this, set the volume to a low level.
• Increase the volume slowly.
• Damage to your hearing can be extensive and cannot be reversed.
• If you notice a hearing problem, please consult a doctor.

Condensation

• Condensation may occur when moving the device from a cold to a warm environment. If there is

moisture inside the player, it may not operate properly. Don't turn on the device and wait about one hour for the moisture to evaporate.

Saving energy

• If the unit is not used for a long period of time it should be disconnected from the power supply and batteries removed.
• If there is no audio signal or playback while in CD, USB or AUX mode for approximately one hour, the unit will automatically switch into standby mode.

Unpacking

• Take out carefully the unit from the packing. Please keep the packing for further use.
- Carefully remove possible protection cardboards and slipcovers.

Power Supply

Power Adaptor

1. The unit requires DC 9V 1.0A.
2. Plug the supplied adaptor cable into the connector on the back of the unit and the other end into a suitable wall socket.
3. Make sure that the output power of the wall outlet matches the required power of the adaptor.

Note:

- If not using the unit for a longer period of time, unplug the adaptor from the wall outlet and from the unit.

Battery Power

Insert 6x 1.5V size UM-2/C batteries into the battery compartment. Be sure that the batteries are inserted correctly to avoid damage to the appliance. Always remove the batteries when appliance will not be used for a long period of time, as this will cause leakage to the batteries and subsequently damage to your set.

Notes:

• Use batteries of the same type. Never use different types of batteries together.
• To use the appliance with batteries, disconnect the AC power cord from it.

Basic Functions

Switching the Unit On & Off

1. Power the unit as described above.
2. The unit is now in standby mode. The Standby Indicator will be lit red.
3. To switch the unit on, press the Power button once.
4. To switch the unit off into standby mode, press the Power button again.

Source Selection

- With the unit switched on, press the Source button repeatedly to switch between the following modes: Radio, CD, USB, AUX.

Volume Control

• To increase the volume, press the + Volume+ button.
  • To decrease the volume, press the 🔊-Volume-button.
• When the unit is switched off and back on (incl. disconnecting it from a power source), the volume setting will be the same as before switching the unit off.

Radio

1. Switch the unit on as described above.
2. The unit will switch on to radio mode. The frequency will be shown in the display.
3. Select a desired radio station by pressing the I◀ Skip/Search Down or ▶ Skip/Search Up button repeatedly.
4. To automatically search for the next available radio station, press and hold for 2 seconds the Skip/Search Down or ▶Skip/Search Up button.

Note:

- For the best FM reception fully extend the antenna.

Radio Station Presets

This unit enables you to store up to 20 radio stations:

1. Tune to a radio station which you would like to store.
2. Press the Mem/Mode/Prog button once. The preset no. (e.g. "P01") will be shown in the display.
3. Select a desired preset from P01 to P20 on which you want to store the current frequency by pressing the ■ Stop/CH- or ▶Play/Pause/CH+ button.
4. Press the Mem/Mode/Prog button again to confirm your setting.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 to store up to 20 stations.
6. To recall a stored frequency, press the ■ Stop/CH- or ▶ Play/Pause/CH+ button until you reach the desired preset.

Note:

- Storing stations on presets where other stations have previously been stored on will overwrite these.

CD/MP3 Player

Playing Discs

1. Switch the unit on and select the CD mode by pressing the Source button. "Cd" will be shown in the display
2. Open the CD door gently by the tab at the CD door and insert a disc with the printed side facing up.
3. Close the CD door. The CD is being read and the total number of tracks will then be shown in the display.
4. Playback will start automatically with the frist track on the disc.
5. To temporarily stop the playback (pause), press the ▶II Play/Pause/CH+ button once. Press the button again to resume playback.
6. To stop playback, press the ■ Stop/CH-button.

Fast Forward / Fast Rewind & Skipping Tracks

• To jump to the beginning of the currently playing track, press the L←Skip/Search Down button once. Press it a second time to skip to the previous track.
• To skip to the next track, press the Skip/Search Up button once.
• To fast forward the currently playing track, press and hold the ▶Skip/Search Up button. Once you reach the desired section of the track, release the button to resume normal playback.
• To fast rewind the currently playing track, press and hold the ◀◀ Skip/Search Down button. Once you reach the desired section of the track, release the button to resume normal playback.
• To skip 10 tracks at once, press the Folder/10+ button.

Skipping Folders (MP3 Discs Only)

For MP3 discs which contain folders, you can select between these as follows:

1. During playback, press and hold the Folder/10+ button until the folder number flashes on the display.
2. Press the ◀◀ Skip/Search Down or ▶◀ Skip/Search Up button to select the desired folder.
3. Wait several seconds or press the Folder/10+ button to confirm. The playback will start from the selected folder.

Repeat Modes

At any time during playback,

• press the Mem/Mode/Prog button once to repeat the current track. "REP" will be shown in the display flashing.
• press the Mem/Mode/Prog button a second time to repeat all tracks. "REP" will be shown in the display steadily.

• press the Mem/Mode/Prog button a third time to play the first 10 seconds of each track. "INTRO" will be shown in the display.

• press the Mem/Mode/Prog button a fourth time to play all tracks on the disc in random order. "RAN" will be shown in the display.

• press the Mem/Mode/Prog button again until the indicators disappear from the display to deactivate the selected function.

Programming Track Order

You can store up to 20 tracks for audio CDs or up to 99 tracks for MP3 discs in a desired sequence.

1. While in CD stop mode, press the Mem/Mode/Prog button. "PROG" will be shown in the display together with "P01".

2. Using the I◀ Skip/Search Down or ▶Skip/Search Up button, select the track to be played first in the sequence. For discs that include folders you will be asked to select the desired folder first. Do so by pressing the I◀ Skip/Search Down or ▶Skip/Search Up button. Press the Mem/Mode/Prog button. Then select the desired song from the folder using the I◀ Skip/Search Down or ▶Skip/Search Up button.

3. Press the Mem/Mode/Prog button again. "P02" will be shown in the display.

4. Repeat the steps 2 - 3 to select up to 20 tracks (or 99 tracks for MP3 discs) for your sequence.

5. Press the May/Pause/CH+ button to start the playback of your sequence.

6. To stop playback, press the ■ Stop/CH- button. To delete your sequence press this button a second time. "PROG" will disappear from the display.

USB Playback

Playback

1. Insert a USB stick into the USB port of the unit while the unit is in standby mode.
2. Switch the unit on and select the USB mode by pressing the Source button repeatedly. "USb" will be shown in the display.
3. The USB stick is being read and the total number of folders and tracks will then be shown in the display.
4. Playback will start automatically with the first track from the first folder.
5. To temporarily stop the playback (pause), press the ▶II Play/Pause/CH+ button once. Press the button again to resume playback.
6. To stop playback, press the ■ Stop/CH-button.

Playback modes

Skipping, fast forwarding and fast rewinding tracks, skipping folders, repeat modes, intro & random functions and programming track order in USB mode are the same as for CD playback. Please see the previous chapter for the instructions.

Notes:

• A USB device must always be connected directly to the USB port of this product. The use of a USB extension cord is not supported by this product. The USB port of this product cannot communicate with a computer directly.
• The reading time for a USB drive varies depending on the speed of the memory device and the number of songs and folders. In some cases the reading time may be as long as 60 seconds.
• Always switch off the unit before removing a USB flash drive to prevent damage to your USB device. The manufacturer is not responsible for the loss or damage of data.
• Due to numerous methods of compression it could be that some files or USB flash drives cannot be played.

AUX Input

You can connect the audio output of an external device such as a smartphone or MP3 player to this

unit to listen to the sound of that device through the amplifier of this music system.

1. Switch the unit on and select the AUX mode by pressing the Source button repeatedly. "AUX" will be shown in the display.
2. To connect the external device please use a standard stereo audio cable (3.5 mm to 3.5 mm plugs) (not included) to connect the headphone out or audio line out of the external device to the AUX input socket of this unit.
3. Switch the external device (e.g. MP3 player) on.
4. Start playback of the external device and adjust the volume of BB 320 and the connected device to the desired level.
5. Remember to switch off the unit when you are finished using the external device.

Headphone Connector

A headphone jack is located at rear of the unit. When the unit is powered on and playing music, you can connect the earphones (not included) to the headphone jack for your private listening. Mind the safety information from page 12 on.

With headphones connected the unit's speakers are disabled. To listen via the speakers again, disconnect the headphones.
