Frequently Asked Questions - 15011 KORONA

How do I descale the coffee maker?
Mix equal parts water and white vinegar, fill the water tank, run a brew cycle without coffee. Repeat with fresh water two times. Descaling every 3 months prevents mineral buildup.
Why does my coffee taste bitter?
Possible causes: over-extraction (too fine grind or too much coffee), dirty machine, or old coffee grounds. Clean the machine and use a medium grind. Fresh coffee improves taste.
Can I use pre-ground coffee?
Yes, use a paper filter (#4 cone) and add ground coffee to the filter basket. Medium grind is ideal for drip coffee makers.
How do I clean the carafe?
Wash the glass carafe with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. For stains, use baking soda or a descaling solution. Rinse thoroughly before use.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The machine turns off automatically after 2 hours to save energy and prevent overheating. Safety feature for peace of mind.
How much water should I use per cup?
One cup is approximately 150 ml. For 12 cups, fill the water tank to the 12-mark. Measure water using the marked tank for consistent strength.
Why isn't my coffee maker brewing?
Check power, water level, and if the carafe is properly placed. Also ensure the filter basket is correctly inserted. Inspect the anti-drip valve.
Can I replace the carafe?
Yes, a replacement carafe (model-specific) is available. Contact Korona customer service or check online retailers. Use only compatible glass carafe.
How often should I clean the filter basket?
After each use, rinse the filter basket and discard the used filter. Deep clean monthly with vinegar to remove oil residue. Regular cleaning ensures optimal flavor.
What type of filter does this model use?
It uses #4 cone paper filters. Do not use metal filters unless specified. Paper filters produce a cleaner cup.
