Frequently Asked Questions - TE100-P1U TRENDNET

How do I set up the TRENDnet TE100-P1U print server?
Connect the print server to your router via Ethernet, then connect your printer via USB. Install the TRENDnet Print Server Utility from the included CD or website, and follow the wizard to assign an IP address and install the printer driver.
Is this print server compatible with my wireless router?
Yes, it works with any router that has a standard Ethernet port. The TE100-P1U connects via wired Ethernet, not wirelessly, so you'll need a cable connection to your router.
Can I use this print server with a USB hub to connect multiple printers?
No, the TE100-P1U supports only one printer directly via its single USB port. Using a USB hub is not recommended and may cause issues.
What do the LED indicators mean?
Power: solid green when powered. Link/Activity: solid green for Ethernet link, flashing for activity. USB: solid green when printer is connected and ready.
How do I reset the device to factory defaults?
Locate the reset button on the back of the unit. Use a paperclip to press and hold it for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash. Release; the device will reboot with default settings.
Does it support AirPrint?
The TE100-P1U does not natively support AirPrint. However, you may be able to use third-party software like HandyPrint on a Mac to enable AirPrint through this print server.
Can I use this with a network scanner?
This device is designed for printers only. It does not support scanning functions. For scanning, you would need a dedicated network scanner or a multifunction printer with network scanning.
Why is my printer not detected after connecting?
First, ensure the printer is powered on and properly connected via USB. Check the USB LED on the print server; if off, try a different USB cable. Also, verify the printer is not already in use by another computer.
What is the default IP address of the TE100-P1U?
The default IP is obtained via DHCP. Check your router's DHCP client list to find its assigned IP. You can also use the TRENDnet Print Server Utility to locate the device on the network.
How do I update the firmware?
Download the latest firmware from TRENDnet's support site. Access the web interface of the print server (enter its IP in a browser), go to the firmware upgrade section, and upload the file. Do not power off during update.
