Frequently Asked Questions - FH08B Cotech

How do I clean the FH08B heater?
Unplug the heater and allow it to cool. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use any chemical or abrasive cleaners. For the air intake grille, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
What does the tip-over switch do?
The tip-over switch automatically turns off the heater if it is accidentally knocked over. This prevents fire hazards and ensures safety.
Can I use the heater in a bathroom?
No, the FH08B is not designed for bathroom use. It should only be used in dry indoor areas. Keep it away from water and moisture.
How do I set the thermostat?
Turn the thermostat knob to your desired temperature. The heater will automatically cycle on and off to maintain that temperature. The thermostat can be adjusted at any time.
Why does the heater turn off by itself?
This could be due to the thermostat reaching the set temperature, or the overheat protection activating. Ensure the air intake and outlet are not blocked. If it keeps turning off, contact support.
Is the heater suitable for large rooms?
The FH08B is rated for rooms up to approximately 20 square meters (215 sq ft). For larger rooms, consider a higher wattage heater or using multiple units.
How do I change the heating element?
Changing the heating element should be done by a qualified technician. Please contact the Cotech service center. Unauthorized repairs may void the warranty.
What is the power cord length?
The power cord is approximately 1.5 meters long. Do not use an extension cord unless it is rated for the heater's power consumption.
Does the heater produce noise?
The fan creates a moderate sound of about 45 dB, similar to a quiet conversation. It is normal for the heater to make clicking noises when heating elements expand or contract.
Can I leave the heater unattended?
It is not recommended to leave the heater unattended for extended periods. However, the built-in safety features such as overheat protection and tip-over switch provide added safety.

  • Do not place the fan heater in the bathroom, laundry room, or in the near vicinity of the bath or shower.

Thermostat

With the fan heater turned on to one of the heat settings:

  1. Turn the thermostat clockwise to the maximum setting.
  2. Slowly turn the thermostat control when the room has reached the desired temperature. Turn the control until it clicks, the heater will turn off and the indicator light will go off.
  3. No further adjustment is required. The fan heater will then automatically turn on once the temperature goes below the setting and turn off once the set temperature is reached.

Tip-over switch

The tip-over switch is located on the bottom of the fan heater and will shut it off automatically should it tip over.

Overheating protection

The fan heater has a built-in thermal over-temperature protection device. If the over-temperature protection is triggered, the heating element is automatically shut off.

When the over-temperature protection device has cooled down, the heating element will be reconnected and the fan heater will work again as normal.

As an extra safety measure the heater is also fitted with a thermal fuse safety cut-off. This thermal fuse cannot be reset, so if it has blown the fan heater cannot be reused. The fan heater should then be discarded.
