Frequently Asked Questions - WDW-516W WILFA

How do I use the Wilfa WDW-516W waffle maker for the first time?
Before first use, wipe the plates with a damp cloth and dry. Heat the waffle maker without batter for about 10 minutes, then let it cool. This eliminates any manufacturing residues.
Can I use metal utensils on the non-stick plates?
No, avoid metal utensils to prevent scratching the non-stick coating. Use wooden or silicone utensils.
How do I clean the waffle maker?
Unplug and let it cool completely. Wipe the plates with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use abrasive cleaners.
What is the best temperature setting for waffles?
Start with a medium setting (around 4-5 on the dial). Adjust based on preference: higher for crispier waffles, lower for softer ones.
Why does the indicator light turn off and on?
The thermostat maintains temperature. The light cycles on and off during use, indicating the heating element is cycling.
Can I store the waffle maker vertically?
Yes, the waffle maker is designed for upright storage. Wrap the cord around the base for convenient storage.
How much batter should I pour?
Pour enough batter to cover the lower plate about 2/3 full. Close the lid; excess batter will seep out. Avoid overfilling.
Is the handle cool to the touch?
Yes, the handle is designed to stay cool during operation for safe handling.
What should I do if the waffle maker stops working?
Check the power cord and outlet. If it still doesn't work, contact Wilfa customer service. Do not attempt to repair yourself.
Can I make other foods like paninis?
This waffle maker is intended only for waffle batter. Using other foods may damage the non-stick coating or cause uneven heating.
