  18. Check at regular intervals the surface of the heating pad for possible signs of wear and tear or dark spots. In case of wear and tear, damages or spots, do not use the heating pad. It should be discarded or handed over to a service agent for repair.

This product comprises a safety system that will cut off the power supply within milliseconds in case of a short circuit or an abnormally high power consumption. In such case it is not possible, for safety reasons, to use the heating pad. Consequently, the heating pad should be discarded, see more in section “Disposal of the appliance”.

How to use the appliance

Check that the on/off button is off (0). Connect the plug of the appliance to a wall outlet. Sit or lie down comfortably with the heating pad as you want it and keep the switch within reach. You can also fasten the heating pad by means of the Velcro straps on the underside of the heating pad. Make sure that the cord between the heating pad and the on/off button has not been folded or rolled up. The on/off button gets hot during use, which is quite normal. Consequently, never cover the on/off button and do not leave it on the heating pad during use. Switch on the heating pad by selecting one of the following settings (the signal lamp goes on):

0 - Turned off
1 - Low temperature
2 - Medium temperature
3 - High temperature

We recommend that you already at the beginning set the on/off button at setting 3 (high temperature) and lower the temperature as you find it necessary. Switch off the heating pad by pushing the on/off button to 0. Always unplug after use.

Warning! The heating pad should not be used by small children, unless the on/off button has been set by a grown-up or if the child has been thoroughly instructed in the use of the on/off button. Never let children use the heating pad without supervision. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of the heating pad.

Automatic switch-off

The heating pad switches off automatically, when it has been activated continuously for about 90 minutes ( ± 10 min.). The signal lamp of the chosen temperature is flashing to indicate that the heating pad has been switched off automatically. In order to restart the heating pad, push the on/off button to 0 and choose the optional setting.

Note!

If you use the heating pad continuously for a long period of time, this might cause skin burns that will show at a later stage. Therefore, never use the heating pad for more than 90 minutes without a pause!

Cleaning and maintenance

Unplug from the wall outlet and let the heating pad cool for at least 10 minutes before cleaning.

Always dismantle the removable switch and the cord before cleaning. To do so, press the buttons at both sides of the coupling at the underside of the heating pad and unplug at the same time. You can hand wash the heating pad or put it in a washing machine (“sensitive” programme) at 40^ C. The heating pad should only be washed if very dirty and not more than 2-3 times a year as all washing will wear out the product. Stains and dirt can be removed by using a humid sponge and a little mild detergent. Note that the heating pad must not be dry-cleaned.

IMPORTANT!

Make sure that the switch of the cord does not get in contact with water or any other liquid.

If you hand wash the heating pad, press the heating pad carefully into the water with a little washing powder to remove the spots. Next, rinse the heating pad in clean water to remove all washing powder.

Let the heating pad drip dry after washing. Never twist the heating pad or use a tumble dryer. Never mangle or iron the heating pad. Never - under any circumstances - switch on the heating pad in order to dry it. Position the heating pad on a stable surface for drying. Do not fasten it by means of clothes-pegs or similar. Do not use the heating pad until it has dried completely. If not, the safety system will be activated and the heating pad will be switched off.

After cleaning and prior to the following use, always check the heating pad in order to locate any possible damages/wear.
