This product comprises a safety system that will cut off the power supply within milliseconds in case of a short circuit or an abnormally high power consumption. In such case, it is not possible, for safety reasons, to use the heat blanket. Consequently, the heat blanket should be discarded, see more in section “Disposal of the appliance”.
How to use the appliance
Plug the appliance to a wall outlet, the display shows "8" for a few seconds and afterwards just one point will be displayed. Sit or lie down comfortably with the heat blanket as you want it and keep the switch within reach. Make sure that the cord between the heat blanket and the on/off button is not folded or coiled.
Switch on the heat blanket by pressing the on/off button. The heat blanket starts automatically at temperature setting 4 and the timer setting at 30 minutes.
You can now set the temperature by means of the temperature buttons + and - (the button closest to the display) from 1-10, where 10 is displayed as “H” (1 = lowest temperature, H = highest temperature) depending on how warm you want the blanket to be. Now press the timer button (the button in the middle) + and - if you want to set the time to be off between 10 and 90 minutes with intervals of 10 minutes. The display shows 1 for 10 minutes, 2 for 20 minutes etc. up to 9 for 90 minutes. The chosen setting flashes for a few seconds and will then be on constantly.
The on/off button gets hot during use, which is quite normal. Consequently, never cover the on/off button and do not leave it on the heat blanket during use.
If “E” is displayed check that the switch is properly connected to the outlet on the underside of the heat blanket.
You can also switch off the heat blanket by pressing the switch at the bottom of the control unit. Always unplug after use.
Warning! The heat blanket should not be used by small children, unless the on/off button has been set by a grown-up or if the child has been thoroughly instructed in the use of the on/off button. Never let children use the heat blanket without supervision. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of the heat blanket.
Note!
If you use the heat blanket continuously for a long period of time, this might cause skin burns that will show at a later stage. Therefore, never use the heat blanket for more than 90 minutes without a pause! NEVER sleep with the heat blanket on and always switch off the heat blanket if you leave the room.
Cleaning and maintenance
Unplug from the wall outlet and let the heat blanket cool for at least 10 minutes before cleaning.
Always dismantle the removable switch and the cord before cleaning. To do so, press the buttons at both sides of the coupling at the underside of the heat blanket and unplug at the same time. You can hand wash the heat blanket or put it in a washing machine (“sensitive” programme) at 40°C. Only wash the heat blanket if very dirty and not more than 2-3 times a year as all washing will wear out the product. Remove stains and dirt by using a humid sponge and just a little mild detergent. Note that the heat blanket must not be dry-cleaned. Do only wash the heat blanket with similar colours.
IMPORTANT!
Make sure that the on/off button and the switch do not get in contact with water or any other liquid.
If you hand wash the heat blanket, press the blanket carefully into the water with a small amount of detergent to remove the spots. Next, rinse the heat blanket in clean water to remove the detergent. Let the heat blanket drip dry after washing. Never twist the heat blanket or use a tumble dryer. Never mangle or iron the blanket, Never - under any circumstances - switch on the heat blanket in order to dry it. Position the heat blanket on a stable surface for drying. Do not fasten it by means of clothes pegs or similar.
