Congratulations on your choice of our appliance, and welcome among the users of Zelmer products.
In order to achieve best possible results we recommend using exclusively original Zelmer accessories. They have been specially designed for this product.
We urge that you read this user's manual carefully. Special attention needs to be paid to the safety precautions. Please save this manual so it can be referred to in the future use of the product.
Safety precautions and instructions on the proper use of the electric kettle
Read this entire manual carefully before using the appliance.

DANGER! / WARNING! Health hazard
- Special attention is necessary when the kettle is used in the presence of children.
- Do not operate the appliance if the power cord is damaged or the kettle body is visibly damaged.
- If the non-detachable part of the cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the producer or at a proper service point or by a qualified person in order to avoid any hazards.
- Only qualified staff may make repairs of the appliance. A wrongly done repair my cause a serious threat to the user. It may also result in a cancellation of the warranty. In case any defects occur, we recommend that you take the appliance to a specialist service point.
- Do not touch the main body of the kettle when water is boiling – use only the handle to move it.
- Do not fill the kettle beyond the maximum fill indicator „max“ – water might spatter out of the kettle.
- Be careful not to wet the plug of the connecting cord.
- Mind the steam coming out of the kettle while water is boiling.
- Allow the kettle to cool completely before cleaning it.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.

CAUTION! Not observance can result in damage to possessions
Always plug the appliance to the mains (AC only) with voltage corresponding to that indicated on the rating plate.
Place the kettle on a stable, even and flat surface; the connecting cord may not hang over the edge of the surface on which the kettle is placed.
Do not remove the plug from the outlet by pulling by the cord.
The kettle can only be operated with the original power base, each base is type-specific.
Use the kettle for boiling water only.
Do not open the lid immediately after water has boiled – steam might condense and appear on the exterior of the kettle.
Do not place the kettle on or near hot objects.
Do not immerse the kettle or the power base in water when filling or washing the electric kettle.
In the event that water gets into the inside electric elements of the kettle, or onto the power base, carefully dry these elements before plugging the kettle into the mains.
Do not operate the kettle when empty.
Do not use the kettle with the lid open – the automatic shut off will not work then.
Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents such as emulsions, creams, pastes, etc for cleaning the kettle body. They might remove graphic information symbols such as: scales, marks, warning signs, etc.
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Information on the product and suggestions for its use
- This appliance is intended to be use in household and similar applications such as:
- in shops, offices and other simila working environments;
- in farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- in bed and breakfast type environments.
In case it is used for food business purposes, the warranty conditions shall change.
Do not use the kettle without a filter.

Preparation of the electric kettle for operation

re the first use, wash the kettle inside (for washing instructions see “Cleaning and maintenance”), fill it with water up to the “max” level, and let it boil four times (use fresh water each time) and wash again.
Operating instructions of the electric kettle

① Press the lid button (5) – the kettle lid will open.
② Place the filter (8) in the kettle – if it was taken out before.
③ Fill the kettle up with the desired amount of water (the level is visible on the indicator (3)).

If further use of the kettle is anticipated, it is not necessary to remove the plug of the connecting cord from the power socket.

Cleaning and maintenance

① Remove the plug of the connecting cord from the power socket.
② Remove filter (8) and rinse it under running water.
③ Clean the outside surfaces with a soft cloth moistened with washing-up liquid.
In order to remove the build-up of hard water film from the outside and inside walls of the kettle, wipe them with a cloth moistened with vinegar.
④ Rinse the kettle with fresh water.

ous black-coloured, rusty, milky, etc. deposits may form inside the kettle and float on the water. This is caused by minerals occurring naturally in water (calcium, magnesium, iron, etc.). Such discoloration is not caused by faulty operation of the appliance and does not affect its use. In case of substantial accumulation of mineral deposits, proceed as described in the "Descaling" section.
Descaling
In the event that scale builds up on the bottom of the kettle, it needs to be removed. For this purpose use 6-10% vinegar or citric acid.
Open the lid.
Add 0.5 l of vinegar or 40 g of citric acid and fill the kettle with water up to the maximum level. Switch on the kettle.
Bring the mixture to boil and allow the kettle to stand for 30 minutes.
Empty the kettle and rinse it with fresh water.
Remove the filter (8) and rinse it under running water. Replace the filter.
Fill the kettle with fresh water, boil the water and empty the kettle.
If sediment is still visible in the kettle, remove it with a sponge and rinse the kettle again. If unsuccessful, repeat the descaling process.

Each user can protect the natural environment. It is neither difficult nor expensive.

In order to do it: put the cardboard packing into recycling paper container; put the polyethylene (PE) bags into container for plastic.
When worn out, dispose the appliance to particular disposal centre, because of the dangerous elements of this appliance, which can be hazardous for natural environment.
Do not dispose the appliance with the municipal waste!
