Frequently Asked Questions - S3251 SHARK

How do I fill the water tank on the Shark S3251?
Unplug the steamer and wait for it to cool. Lift the tank lid, use the included measuring cup to fill with water, then close securely.
How long does the steam last?
With a full tank (8.5 oz), you get about 15 minutes of continuous steam, depending on the setting.
Can I use tap water?
Yes, but distilled or filtered water is recommended to prevent mineral buildup.
Why is my steam cleaner not producing steam?
Ensure the unit is heated (30 sec wait), the tank is full, and the steam button is pressed. If still no steam, check for clogs in the nozzle.
How do I clean the nozzle?
Use the provided scraper or a pin to remove debris from the nozzle. Run steam through it to flush.
Is it safe to use on upholstery?
Yes, test on an inconspicuous area first. Use the fabric steamer attachment and keep the steamer moving to avoid damage.
How often should I descale?
Every 10-15 fills or when you notice reduced steam. Use a vinegar-water solution or descaling product.
Can I use cleaning solutions?
No, only water. Adding chemicals can damage the unit and void the warranty.
What does the child safety lock do?
It prevents accidental steam release. Slide the lock forward to disable the steam button, backward to enable.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Visit Shark's official website or contact customer service for replacement water tanks, nozzles, and brushes.
