How to set up the Evolveo X-CAST?

Plug the X-CAST stick into an available HDMI port on your TV. Connect the USB power using a USB cable (adapter not included, require at least 1A output). Install the EZcast app on your smartphone or tablet. Launch the app and connect to the stick's WiFi network. Then you can start streaming content.

Why is my X-CAST not powering on?

First, ensure the stick is fully inserted into the HDMI port. Check the USB power source; it must provide 5V and at least 1A. Avoid using the TV's USB port (often underpowered); instead, use a dedicated 230V USB charger. Also verify the USB cable is not damaged.

Can I mirror my phone screen?

Yes, if your device supports Wireless Display (Miracast), you can use the EZMirror function in the EZcast app. Go to the app's main screen, select EZMirror, and follow the on-screen instructions.

How do I update firmware?

Open the EZcast app on your connected device. Navigate to Settings and tap on Upgrade/Update. The app will check for new firmware and guide you through the installation.

Which devices are compatible with X-CAST?

The X-CAST works with devices running Android, iOS, Windows (PC and Mobile), and Mac. Your device must have WiFi and the ability to install the EZcast app.

No sound from TV when using X-CAST?

Check the volume settings on both your TV and the connected device. Ensure your TV's HDMI audio input is selected. Also verify that the source device's volume is not muted.

The stick restarts or home page is not displayed correctly.

This is often due to insufficient power. Do not use the TV's USB port; use a 5V/1A USB charger plugged into a wall outlet. Unplug the charger and reconnect to reset the stick.

How to change the video resolution?

In the EZcast app, go to Settings. Look for the Resolution option and select your desired resolution (e.g., 1080p, 720p). The change takes effect immediately.

What is the default WiFi password for the X-CAST?

The default password is displayed on the TV screen after connection (e.g., Password: xxxxxxxx). You can change it in the app's Settings under Stick connection password.

Connection description

• connect your EVOLVEO XtraCast stick to the HDMI port on your TV
• connect the USB power, use the 230V adapter (not included) or your TV USB port with minimum 1A current output
• place the WiFi antenna so that it is in the direct line of sight to the connected device (smartphone, tablet or computer), and if possible, also in the direct line of sight to your WiFi access point (the access point to the Internet), at a distance of no more than 6 meters
• install the „EZcast“ application to your device

Android device setting

• launch the „EZcast“ application, connect the EVOLVEO XtraCast stick to your device (smartphone/tablet) via WiFi
• After connection, you will see the main EZcast screen. Some devices may require password authentication „Password: xxxxxxxx“ which you can see on the main screen.

- now, you can for example view photos (Photo), watch the camera view (Camera), play music (Music), video files (Video), display websides (Web) or play Cloud video files (Cloud Video) on the connected TV

• devices supporting the "Wireless display" can mirror the screen (EZMirror)

- In the "Settings" fold you can change the device settings (Resolution, Stick connection password, Language, Connection type, Firmware update)

Firmware updates

If there is a new firmware version for your EVOLVEO XtraCast stick available, download and install it by clicking on the "Upgrade/ Update" icon.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Solution
The device cannot be switched on	Check if the stick is properly inserted in the HDMI port, or check charging.
The device restarts or the Home page is not properly displayed	Don’t use the USB port of your TV to charge, it may be not sufficient enough, check the 230V charger connection. Unplug the charger and connect again into the HDMI port.
The sound cannot be heard	Check volume settings of your television or the connected device.
