How do I adjust the laminating temperature?

Turn the Temperature Regulator knob to the desired setting. The knob displays values in microns that correspond to the thickness of the laminating pouch. A test lamination is recommended to fine-tune the temperature.

What should I do if the pouch gets jammed?

Press the Release/Reverse Button immediately. This will stop the rollers and allow you to gently pull the pouch back out from the entry slot.

Can I use any laminating pouch?

For best results, use envelope-type pouches with a thickness between 80 and 150 microns. Avoid cheap pouches where the PET layer is thicker than 50 microns, as they may cause wrinkles. Always ensure the pouch is inserted squarely with a margin of about 3 mm on each side.

How do I clean the rollers?

While the machine is warm (after use), insert a cleaning paper or a piece of cardboard (approx. 250 g/m²) with a rough texture into the entry. Let it run through several times to remove dust and glue residue.

How do I perform cold lamination?

Set the Temperature Regulator to the "COLD" position. The Ready Light will turn on to indicate the machine is ready. Then insert the pouch as usual.

How long does it take to warm up?

The warm-up time for the DWL-3AF is approximately 3–5 minutes. The Ready Light turns on when the set temperature is reached, but for best results, wait an additional 5–10 minutes for temperature stabilization.

Why is my laminated document wrinkled or misty?

Wrinkles usually indicate the temperature is too high; reduce the setting. A misty or poorly glued appearance means the temperature is too low; increase the setting. Wrinkles can also occur if the pouch is not inserted straight.

Can I laminate documents thicker than 0.6 mm?

No, the maximum document thickness is 0.6 mm. Attempting to laminate thicker items may cause jams, poor adhesion, or damage to the rollers.

How do I properly turn off the laminator?

First, set the Temperature Regulator to "COLD" and wait 10 minutes for the rollers to cool. Then switch the Main Switch to the "O" (off) position and unplug the machine from the socket.

Is it safe to leave the laminator unattended while on?

No, never leave the machine unattended while it is on. Always switch off and unplug when not in use. Keep away from flammable materials and do not cover the heat vents.

MAIN SWITCH (4)

After pressing the main switch placed on the side of the laminating machine to the "I" position, the rollers begin to roll. The "POWER" light (1) will lighten up.

READY LIGHT (2)

The light informs:

off - that the temperature of the rollers is below the set temperature,
on - that the temperature of the rollers is equal or higher then the set temperature.

WARNING! To stabilize the temperatures and obtain best laminating results it is suitable to wait additional 5-10 minutes after the READY light lightens up.

RELEASE/REVERSE BUTTON (6)

In case the pouch is not fed vertically into the entrance or jammed inside, push the jam release button (6), then the pouch can be easily pulled out of the entrance.

TEMPERATURE REGULATOR (4)

Allows to adjust the laminating temperature accordingly to the used pouch's thickness. The regulator shows values in microns, as on laminating pouches, to allow easy setting of adequate temperatures.

1. Before laminating it is advisable to carry out a test lamination to familiarise yourself with the machine and to make sure that it is working correctly.
2. Plug the machine into an appropriate and easy-to-reach socket.
3. Choose the appropriate pouch's thickness to the laminated material and adjust the temperature accordingly to the used pouch's thickness by using the temperature regulator (3). It is a preliminary setting.
4. Set the main switch (4) placed on the side of the laminating machine in the „I” position. The POWER light (1) will lighten up.
5. The laminating machine warms-up for about 4-6 minutes.
6. The machine is ready to use when the READY light (2) lightens up.
7. Insert the document with the sealed side first into the entry (5).
8. The laminating process is finished when the whole document comes out from the other end of the machine.
9. If the document is not properly laminated, repeat steps 7 and 8 again.
10. If the pouch gets jammed inside, push the RELEASE/REVERSE (6), then the pouch can be easily pulled out of the entrance.
11. If you are not using the machine, turn it off. This will guarantee best laminating results each time.

Documents need to be inserted into the laminating pouch squarely and centrally, with a margin of around 3 mm from each side. A wider margin may cause folding, bending or blocking of the laminated document.

COLD LAMINATION

1. Set the main switch (4) placed on the side of the laminating machine in the „I” position. The POWER light (1) will lighten up.
2. Set the temperature regulator (3) in the „COLD" position. The READY light (2) will lighten up.
3. Insert the document with the sealed side first into the entry (5).
4. Take out the laminated document

HOW TO TURN OFF THE LAMINATING MACHINE

1. Set the temperature regulator (3) in the „COLD” position.
2. Wait 10 minutes.
3. Turn the main switch (4) placed on the side of the machine to position „O”.
4. Unplug the machine from the socket. The machine is turned off now.

Before and after the lamination use a cleaning paper to clean the rollers from dust and glue. When the temperature is rising, place the cleaning paper and make it go through the laminating machine a few times. It will protect the machines from laminating pouches being pulled between the rollers. The cleaning paper may be replaced with a cardboard of the grammature around 250 g/m^2 with a rough texture.

CLEANING THE COVER

1. When the cover is dirty, use a soft wet cloth to clean it.
2. Do not use solvents or petrol.
3. Do not unscrew the cover to clean the rollers! It may cause electric shock!

HOW TO OBTAIN THE BEST RESULTS

1. If your laminating pouch is not envelope-type it may be pulled in during the lamination. The use of laminating pouches other than recommended may cause trouble during lamination.
2. Lines or wrinkles may appear, if the laminating pouch is not placed straight.
3. If the margin of the laminating pouch is wider then 3mm, pouches may fold on both edges of the document.
4. Laminated edges may not hold if the document is thicker than 300 mic.
5. The lamination of documents of the thickness lower than 150 mic or the use of laminating pouches of the thickness lower than 80 mic, especially cheap pouches where the PET layer is thicker than 50 mic, may cause wrinkles. In such cases it is advised to use a relatively low temperature (around 90°C) or to use a carrier.
6. If the laminated pouch is misty or does not show good gluing qualities, then you need to use a higher temperature.
7. If the laminated pouch is curved or wrinkled on the side, then you need to use a lower temperature
8. Too high temperature may cause the pulling of the document into the rollers - use the RELEASE/REVERSE button to release the document and clean the rollers from the glue.

GENERAL

Keep hands, long hair, loose articles of clothing, jewellery and ties away from device to avoid serious injury.

Unstable surfaces may cause the fall of the device, which can result in body injuries.

Please avoid fast stopping, use of additional force or surface unevenness while transporting the device on trolley, casters or table.

Do not remove mechanical and electrical securities such as locks, covers or others. It is forbidden to use objects not dedicated to do so or liquids.

ELECTRICAL

The machine should be plugged to the electric circuit only as presented in the manual.

The socket must be in close vicinity with easy access to the device. While moving the machine, pull the plug from the socket.

To turn off the appliance unplug it from the socket. Socket should be in close vicinity with easy access to device.

Do not use the machine when the wire or plug are damaged or after noticing symptoms of machine's damage. Please contact seller to obtain help.

When the device is equipped with a plug with grounding, then it has to be connected to a socket with grounding!

SERVICE

Proceed only with routine actions according to the manual. Do not repair or service machines on your own. Unplug the machine from the circuit and contact seller when one or more of the following faults occur:

• liquid gets into the machine
  • machine malfunctions as a result of improper use
  • machine does not work accordingly to the manual
