How do I record a TV program on the ECG 24 LED 612 PVR?

To record, first format a USB device via OPTIONS > PVR file system. Then, in DTV mode, press the REC button on the remote. Press STOP to end recording. Recordings are saved in the '_MSTPVR' folder and can only be played on this TV.

How do I use the Timeshift function?

Insert a formatted USB device, then in DTV mode press the PAUSE button (III) to activate timeshift. This pauses the live program and starts recording. Press STOP to deactivate. You can resume playback from the paused point.

What USB devices are compatible for PVR recording?

Use a USB 2.0 device with capacity between 4 GB and 500 GB. It must be formatted using the TV's 'High Speed' option for best performance. Not all USB devices are guaranteed to work.

How do I connect external devices like a DVD player?

Use the AV, YPbPr, SCART, or HDMI inputs on the back or side panel. For PC, connect a VGA cable and audio cable. Select the correct input source using the SOURCE button.

How do I perform automatic channel tuning?

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing this television product. In order to use this device to its full potential from the very start, read this manual carefully and keep handy for future use.

ATTENTION

Do not tamper with any internal device components and do not perform any adjustments that are not defined in this manual. LED TVs use high voltage. When cleaning dust or drops off the display or device case, you should first unplug the power cord from the socket and then wipe the device with a dry towel. To prevent damaging the TV, disconnect the power cord and antenna during a thunderstorm. Refer to a qualified service centre for all necessary repairs.

Note: VIDEO and YPbPr connectors share the same audio channel.

Connections on the side panel

The following connectors are located here (left to right): HDMI1, USB, PC AUDIO, SCART, VGA and RF.

Note: If a DVI signal is transmitted to the HDMI port, the audio signal is received via the PC Audio channel.

INSTALLATION

Installing the device

• Place the unit within the room so that the display is not exposed to direct sunlight.
• Complete darkness or reflections on the screen can cause eye fatigue. Soft indirect light is recommended for comfortable viewing.
• Leave enough space between the device and wall to allow sufficient air circulation.
• Stay away from excessively warm areas to prevent damaging the case of the device or the premature ageing of components.
• Do not cover ventilation holes.

Instructions for assembling the stand

1. Place the device on a fl at service with the screen facing down. Use a blanket or other soft fabric to protect the display.

1. Slide the stand into the holder and firmly tighten with the included screws.

Note:

Antenna connection: IEC (female connector).

Input impedance: 75 Ω asymmetric.

PC connection

Steps:

1. Make sure the TV and computer are off.
2. Connect the VGA and audio cable.
3. Connect the power cord.
4. Turn on the TV and switch to PC mode.
5. Turn on the PC.
   Following this procedure is very important.

AV device connections

This TV includes a set of connectors (AV, YPbPr and SCART), which allow easily connecting a DVD player, video recorder or other video system. Please also follow the instructions in the manual of the connected equipment.

The TV input connectors can be used as follows.

YPbPr in supports the following video formats: 480i,576i,480p,576p,720p,1080i.

1. ⏻: Turn the TV on or off into standby mode.
2. ◀◀/ ☑: Move back in USB mode, subpage button in teletext mode.
3. ▶▶/ : Move back in USB mode, displays hidden information in teletext mode.
4. ▶: Press in USB mode to start or resume playback.
5. III: Press in USB mode to pause playback.
6. TEXT: Open teletext.
7. SUBTITLE: Press in DTV mode to activate subtitles.

Teletext controls

Teletext is an information system transmitted by certain stations that can be read as you would a newspaper. It provides access to subtitles which make viewing easier for the hearing impaired and people without knowledge of the language in which the program is broadcast (cable networks, satellite channels etc.).

Press: Resulting effect:
TEXT	Toggles teletext mode on/off. An overview with a list of available items is displayed. Each item has a designated three-digit page number. If the current channel does not transmit teletext, “100” will be displayed and the screen will remain empty (in this case exit teletext and select a different channel).
	Enter the number of the desired page using the numerical buttons 0 through 9 and up/down arrows. Example: to display page 120, enter 1, 2 and 0. The page number is displayed in the top left corner. The counter indicates page browsing and once the desired page is loaded, it will be displayed on the screen. Repeat these steps to display a different page. If the counter does not stop and continues to count, this means the respective page is not broadcast. Select a page with a different number.
DIRECT ACCESS TO ITEMS	Colour coded abbreviations to certain pages are found in the bottom segment of the screen. The colour coded buttons on the remote control are used to directly access these pages. If an item or page is not available, the colour coded fi eld fl ashes.
BUTTON [IMAGE]	This button returns you to the list page.
	Some pages contain so called subpages, gradually displayed one after another in an automatic way. This button is used to pause or resume the fl ipping of subpages. A paused subpage is indicated in the top left corner.
	Freezes the page.
	Displays hidden information (e.g. solutions to quizzes).

TELEVISION CONTROLS

Installation guide

This screen will only be displayed during the first start of the device or after restarting the system to factory settings. Here you can select the country and perform automatic channel tuning. After the tuning process completes, the first tuned DTV channel will appear.

CHANNEL menu

The first item under the main MENU is the CHANNEL menu (only for ATV or DTV signal sources).

Channels can be tuned and edited under this menu.

Auto-tuning:

All channels will be tuned automatically. You can select to tune analog (ATV) or digital (DTV) channels.

Use the ◀▶ ▼▲ buttons to first select a country, then press OK to start the auto-tuning process.

NOTE:

- If "DTV + ATV" is selected as the tuning type, all channels (including ATV, DTV and radio channels) can be tuned simultaneously.

• All previously stored channels will be erased after the auto-tuning process is selected.
• After the auto-tuning process completes, the TV will switch to the first tuned DTV channel.

DTV manual tuning

You can select the DTV channel number and then tune the desired station.

Use the numerical buttons or ◀▶ buttons to select the channel number and press OK to start the tuning process.

NOTE:

- The signal strength is indicated on the scale in the bottom part of the screen (Bad Normal Good)

ATV manual tuning

You can change the audio system and fi ne tune channels with manual analog broadcasting (ATV) tuning. You can then store the selected channels to the memory.

- Press the red button to store channels after manual tuning.

Program editing

Any of the programs can be Erased, Renamed, Moved, Skipped, or added to Favourites.

Erase:

Press the red button to delete the highlighted program.

Rename:

Only analog (ATV) programs can be renamed.

Move the highlighted segment to the program you wish to rename and press the green button.

Use the ▼▲ arrows to select the character at the position indicated with the cursor. Move the cursor using the ◀▶ cursor.

Press MENU to leave editing mode, press EXIT to leave the menu.

Note: The maximum length of ATV program names is 5 characters, and the maximum length for DTV channels is 25 characters.

Move:

Use the arrows to select the channel you wish to move. Then press the yellow button to select the Move feature. Use the numerical buttons to enter the new program number and confirm by pressing OK.

Skip:

Use the ▼▲ arrows to select a channel and press the blue teletext button to skip the channel. will appear to the right of the channel. To cancel channel skipping, select the channel and press the blue button again. The symbol will go away.

Favourites:

Use the ▼▲ arrows to select a channel and press FAV. ♥ will appear to the right of the channel. To remove a channel from the favourites list, select the channel and press FAV again. ♥ will no longer appear next to the program.

After creating a list of favourite programs, you can press FAV to quickly access your favourite channels.

DISPLAY menu

The second item in the main MENU is the DISPLAY menu. Here you can change display settings such as brightness, contrast etc.

Use the arrows to select the desired item and press OK to adjust.

NOTE:

• "Colour tone" settings are only available for the NTSC system.
• You can select from one of four colour temperature modes: Cold, Medium, Warm and User.
• The "PC Display" setting is only available in PC mode. Here you can adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the display, size and phase.

AUDIO menu

The third item in the main MENU is the AUDIO menu. Here you can adjust the audio parameters such as treble, bass and balance.

Use the ▼▲ arrows to select the desired item and press OK to adjust.

NOTE:

Auto-volume (AVL): This feature is used only when the input signal volume is too high or is distorted.

TIME menu

The fourth item in the main MENU is the TIME menu. Here you can adjust the clock, on/off timer, auto-off period etc.

Use the ▼▲ arrows to select the desired item and press OK to adjust.

NOTE:

If the auto-off feature is enabled, the TV will automatically go into sleep mode after 10 minutes without signal. The precise time can be retrieved from digital television broadcasting (DTV).

OPTIONS menu

The fi fth item in the main MENU is the OPTIONS menu. Here you can change the menu language, audio track language, subtitle language etc.

Use the ▼▲ arrows to select the desired item and press OK to adjust.

Under the "PVR file system" menu, you can set the USB disk parameters for PVR recording.

NOTE:

Resetting to factory settings erases all stored channels and passwords.

LOCK menu

The sixth item in the main MENU is the LOCK menu. Here you can lock the system, set a password, block a program or confi gure the parent lock. Channels cannot be locked or otherwise changed when the system is locked.

NOTE:

The default password is 6666. Should you forget the password, use superpassword 9527.

Program blocking: Use the ▼▲ arrows to select a program and press the green teletext button to block the program. To unblock a program, enter the main menu, enter the password and then press the green button again.

Parent lock: Use the ▼▲ arrows to select the parent protection level.

MULTIMEDIA menu

The seventh item in the main MENU is the MULTIMEDIA menu.

Press OK to enter the DMP menu.

Make sure a USB memory device is inserted into the USB slot of the TV. You can select from four types of media fi les: photos, music, fi lms and text. Use the ◀▶ buttons to select the type of fi le and press OK to enter disk selection mode.

Use the ◀▶ buttons to select the correct disk and press OK to display the list of media fi les and directories, or select "Back" to return to the menu for selecting fi le types.

Use the ◀▶ or ▼▲ buttons to select a media file. A dialog will appear previewing the selected file. Press ▶ to start full screen file playback. During the playback of the media file you can press OK Info to display the control bar.

Use the ◀▶ buttons to select the symbol of the desired feature and press OK to confirm the feature. Press ▼ or EXIT to close the control bar.

NOTE:

You can adjust the audio track or program during video fi le playback in the information menu. Select the "Info" icon and press OK to display the information menu.

The following fi le formats are supported: Photos: JPEG (.jpg), BMP (.bmp), PNG (.png) Music fi les: MP3 (.mp3), Wav (.wav). Text fi les: TXT (.txt) Video: AVI (.avi), TS (MPEG2 & H.264)

EPG (PROGRAM GUIDE)

The EPG provides detailed information about channels together with information about broadcast times for digital (DTV) television and radio stations. Press EPG to open the electronic program guide. The following menu will appear on the screen:

INFO

Use the ↗ arrows to select a program. Press INFO to display the program details.

Schedule

After pressing the yellow button, you can scan through all of the scheduled programs. Use the ▼▲ buttons to select a list item and press the red button

(Delete) to erase a scheduled item. Press the yellow button again to return to the EPG menu.

Recorder

Use the red button to program the recording of a selected program.

Reminder

Select a program and press the blue button to set a reminder time. At this time, the TV will automatically switch to the selected program.

PVR FUNCTION

Preparing to record a program

Under the OPTIONS menu, select the "PVR file system" menu and then "File system check" from this sub-menu. Press OK and wait until the "Checking" status changes to "OK".

Note: please check the "Speed". "HD support" means the USB device speed is sufficient for time shift and recording. Otherwise, format the device to be used for these features. The default "Recording length" is 6 hours, if there is enough space on the disk. If there is less free space on the disk, the length of the recording will correspond with the amount of free space on the disk. Do not perform any operations during the file system check until the check is complete.

The recording process is carried out by the television PVR system. The recording can only be played on the TV. It cannot be played on another device (computer, DVD etc.), which is not compatible with the "TS" file format.

In order to save recordings to the USB disk, the TV may request you to format the USB disk.

WARNING!

FORMATTING ERASES ALL DATA STORED ON THE FORMATTED EXTERNAL DEVICE.

From the OPTIONS menu enter the PVR file system menu.

Select disk: Select the disk to which the recorded file should be stored.

File system check: checks whether the PVR file system is configured on the USB device.

Formatting

We recommend selecting the "High Speed" file format when formatting, which can accelerate the writing cycle.

The following screen appears after the formatting process finishes:

Recording a program

Select a channel in digital TV (DTV) receiving mode and press "Rec". The recording dialog will appear. Press "Rec" again, the recording dialog will disappear and the recording icon will appear in the top left corner. Press "Stop" to stop recording.

Playing a recording

A recorded program is stored on the USB device into the “_MSTPVR” directory.

• The USB recording device should have a capacity of 4 GB to 500 GB.
• The image can be pixelated if the data flow is too slow.
• Compatibility with all USB devices cannot be guaranteed.

Time shift

Preparation

This TV allows pausing and recording the current digital program on a USB medium and resume playback at a later time from the moment you stopped watching the program.

NOTE:

• This feature requires a formatted USB 2.0 device. Backup your data before formatting. The formatting process will erase all data stored on the USB memory device.
• If the off timer was set prior to activating the feature, the off timer will be postponed.

Formatting a USB device

Select USB device formatting and reserve space to use for the time shift feature.

NOTE:

• The formatting cycle can take 2 minutes or longer. Do not turn off the television or disconnect the USB device during the formatting cycle.
• A speed test is performed on the USB device during the formatting cycle. If the test fails, the USB might not support the time shift feature.

Recording paused DTV broadcasting to USB

When digital broadcasting (DTV) is selected as the input source, insert the USB memory device into the USB port on the side of the TV.

Press PAUSE (5) to activate time shift. The TV program will stop, the time shift menu will appear on the screen and the recording process will begin.

Press STOP (20) to deactivate time shift and the recording process.

NOTE:

• Do not disconnect the USB memory device during an active time shift session.
• A capacity of 4 GB provides about 140 minutes of recording time.

The LED panel of this TV is made with very precise technology, providing a fine detailed image and live colours. Rarely will several inactive pixels appear on the screen in the form of constant red, green, blue, black or white pixels. This will not affect the proper functionality of the device.
