How do I assemble the Bissell Zing 1665 vacuum?

Assembly is straightforward: First, connect one extension wand to the handle. Then connect both extension wands together. Attach the bottom wand to the floor tool. The 2-in-1 tool can be attached to the end of the wand when needed. Twist right until you hear a click to secure. Attach the floor tool to the hose and slide it into the holder on the back of the unit for storage.

How do I clean the filters?

Remove the pre-motor and post-motor filters. Wash them with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and squeeze out all excess water. Allow the filters to dry for 24 hours before reassembling. Do not use the vacuum without the filters in place.

How do I empty the dirt container?

Press the release button to remove the dirt container. Empty the contents. To reseat, insert the bottom of the container first, then press the top until you hear a click, indicating it is locked into place.

What should I do if the vacuum won't pick up dirt?

Check the following: 1) Filters may be dirty – clean them. 2) The main hose may not be connected – reconnect it. 3) There may be a clog in the hose or wand – run a broomstick handle through to clear it. 4) The dirt container may not be seated correctly – remove and reseat it.

How do I switch between hard floor and carpet cleaning modes?

The floor tool has a switch to select between Hard Floor Cleaning Mode and Carpet Cleaning Mode. Slide the switch to the desired setting before use.

What is the 2-in-1 tool used for?

The 2-in-1 tool is a combination of a crevice tool and a dusting brush. It can be attached to the end of the wand for cleaning tight spaces or delicate surfaces.

Can I use the vacuum outdoors or on wet surfaces?

No. The vacuum is designed for indoor, dry surfaces only. Using it outdoors or on wet surfaces increases the risk of electric shock and damage.

What is the warranty coverage?

The Bissell Zing 1665 comes with a limited one-year warranty from the date of purchase. It covers defects in materials or workmanship. Routine maintenance components (filters, belts, brushes) are not covered.

» Do not use vacuum cleaner in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
» Do not use to pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
» Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
» Do not use without filters in place.
» Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
» Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.
» Keep appliance on a level surface.
» Do not carry the vacuum cleaner while it is running.
» Hold plug when rewinding onto cord reel. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.

1 - Connect one extension wand to the handle.

2 - Connect both extension wands together.

3 - Connect the bottom extension wand to floor tool.

4 - To use 2-in-1 tool, attach to end of wand when needed.

Problem Possible causes Remedies
Vacuum won't pick up dirt	Filters are dirty	Remove and rinse pre-motor and post-motor filters. Allow enough time for them to dry properly before reinserting
	The Main Hose is not connected	Locate the Main Hose and reconnect by pushing the hose connection to secure the latch
	There is a crack or hole in the Main Hose	If there is a crack or hole, order a new Main Hose from the BISSELL website
	There is a clog in the vacuum	Remove debris and any other entanglements that may be restricting suction. If there is a clog in the wand or the hose, run a broomstick handle through to clear the clog
	The Dirt Container is not seated correctly	Press the Release Button to remove the Dirt Container. To reseat properly insert the bottom of the Dirt Contrainer first, and then press until you hear the top click into place
Dirt is escaping from the vacuum	The Dirt Container is full Empty the	Dirt Container
	Filters are missing Check to see if all	of the Pre-Motor and Post-Motor filters are in place
	The Dirt Container is not seated properly	Press the Release Button and remove the Dirt Container. Insert the bottom first and pivot the Dirt Container towards the vacuum. Listen for a “click” sound, indicating that it snapped into place
