This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Use the appliance only for processing normal quantities of food and for normal amounts of time for domestic use.
This appliance is suitable for mixing liquid or semi-solid food, for cutting/chopping raw fruit and vegetables and for puréeing food. It must not be used for processing other substances or objects.
Additional applications are possible if the accessories approved by the manufacturer are used. Only use the appliance with approved genuine parts and accessories. Never use the accessory parts for other appliances.
Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level.
Important safety information
Read and follow the instruction manual carefully and keep it for later reference! Enclose these instructions when you give this appliance to someone else. If the instructions for correct use of the appliance are not observed, the manufacturer's liability for any resulting damage will be excluded.
This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Keep children away from the appliance and connecting cable and do not allow them to use the appliance. Do not let children play with the appliance. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on! ■ Do not place the appliance on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hobs. The power cord must not come into contact with hot parts or be pulled across sharp edges. ■ Never immerse the base unit in liquids or hold under running water and do not clean in the dishwasher. Do not steam-clean the appliance. Do not use the appliance with damp hands.
■ After each use, whenever the appliance is unsupervised, prior to assembly, prior to disassembly, prior to cleaning and in the event of an error, the appliance must always be disconnected from the mains.
Risk of injury!
■ Care should be taken when handling the sharp cutting blades, emptying the container and during cleaning.
■ Before replacing accessories or additional parts which move during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the power supply.
■ Never place fingers in the attached blender jug. Never operate the appliance without a completely assembled blender or attached lid! Do not remove or attach blender jug until the appliance has been switched off and the drive has come to a standstill. When the appliance has been switched off, the blade continues running for a short time.
■ Always work with a completely assembled grinding attachment! Do not remove or attach grinding attachment until the appliance has been switched off and the drive has come to a standstill.
Risk of scalding!
■ Caution when processing hot liquids.
If processing hot liquids, steam escapes through the funnel in the lid. You should always use one hand to hold the lid firmly in place while you work, but don't place your hand over the filling opening!
■ Add maximum amounts of hot or frothing liquid as indicated in the respective tables.

■ Do not allow children to play with packaging material.
⚠️ Important!
■ We recommend that the appliance is never switched on for longer than is necessary to process the ingredients. Do not operate at no-load.

The appliance cannot be switched on until the blender has been turned firmly into place.
Automatic disconnection
The appliance switches off automatically if the attachment accidentally becomes detached during operation.

With the grinder attachment, use the appliance at full power to prepare fried rice (according to the recipe). You can find the recipe in the “Recipes” section.
Operation
⚠️ Risk of injury from sharp blades / rotating drive!
Do not attach or remove attachments until the appliance is at a standstill. Never place fingers in the attached blender. Never operate the appliance without a completely assembled blender or attached lid! When the appliance has been switched off, the blade continues running briefly.
Do not touch blender blade / cutting blade with bare hands.
Risk of scalding!

Warning!
Never operate an empty blender. Always work with a completely assembled appliance. Screw the blender fully onto the motor block. Place motor block on a smooth, level and clean work surface.
Preparation
■ Before operating the appliance and accessories for the first time, clean thoroughly; see “Cleaning and servicing”. ■ Place motor block on a smooth, level and clean work surface. ■ Unwind the cable to the required length.
Recommended operating speed
The values in brackets apply to appliances with a 2-step rotary switch.

Plastic blender attachment
The blender is suitable for
- blending and frothing liquids, – cutting and chopping raw fruit, vegetables, nuts and chocolate, – puréeing soups, cooked fruit and vegetables, – preparing mayonnaise and sauces.
Do not process deep-frozen ingredients (except ice cubes).
The appliance is suitable for preparing the following quantities:
Solid food 400 g
Liquids max. 1.5 l
Hot or frothing liquids max. 1.0 l

Insert blade holder into the blender jug and lock by turning it to the left. Attach blender jug to the drive on the motor block (2 positions possible). Attach blender jug by turning it all the way clockwise. The coloured mark on the blade holder must be visible in the cutout on the motor unit! Add ingredients. Attach lid and lock by rotating it in a clockwise direction. The cover can be attached in 2 positions. – with outlet opening forwards for pouring out the blended ingredients – with outlet opening backwards, container closed. Insert measuring cup into feed tube and turn it anti-clockwise. Insert the mains plug. Rotate the switch to the required setting. Grip the edge of the lid while operating the blender. Do not reach over the feed tube or spout!
Add more ingredients:
Set the rotary switch to 0/off. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill.
Either
Remove lid. Add more ingredients.
or
Take out measuring cup.
Add liquids and solid (fairly small) ingredients through the feed tube in the lid. Switch on appliance again.
Blender attachment made of glass
Note: The blender jug consists of extremely temperature-resistant borosilicate glass and allows you to prepare even boiling hot ingredients without the glass cracking.
The blender is suitable for
– blending and frothing liquids, – cutting and chopping raw and frozen fruit, vegetables, nuts and chocolate, – puréeing soups, cooked fruit and vegetables, – preparing mayonnaise and sauces.
The appliance is suitable for preparing the following quantities:
Solid food 400 g
Liquids max. 1.5 l

Hot or frothing liquids max. 0.75 l

■ Insert blender blade into the blade holder and lock by turning it to the left. ■ Attach blender jug to the drive on the motor block. ■ Attach blender jug by turning it all the way clockwise. The coloured mark on the blade holder must be visible in the cutout on the motor unit!
■ Add ingredients.

Working with the smoothie insert
With this insert it is particularly easy to make smoothies made of fresh fruits, milk, soya milk, yoghurt and juices.

■ Prepare the blender and attach to the motor block as described above. ■ Insert the smoothie insert into the blender jug. ■ Attach lid with outlet opening forwards (for pouring out the smoothie later). ■ Put ingredients through the feed tube into the blender jug; chop up fruit beforehand if required.
Warning!
Do not put large, hard ingredients in the blender jug, e. g. stones from avocados or plums.
■ Insert measuring cup into feed tube and turn it anti-clockwise. ■ Insert the mains plug. ■ Switch on appliance at a setting with a high operating speed.
Note: Appliances which feature a smoothie programme button can provide the optimum speed and switch-on time for making smoothies.
After using the appliance
■ Set the rotary switch to 0/off. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill. ■ Remove mains plug. ■ Remove the blender by rotating it in an anti-clockwise direction.
■ Pour the contents out of the blender jug through the opening in the lid (plastic blender).
or
■ Take the lid off the blender jug. ■ Empty blender jug. ■ Clean all parts, see “Cleaning and servicing”.
Grinding attachment
for chopping up dry, hard ingredients, e.g. coffee beans, peppercorns, sugar, poppy seeds, chili, nutmeg.
⚠️ Risk of injury from sharp blades/rotating drive!
Do not remove or attach the grinder attachment until the appliance has been switched off and the drive has come to a standstill.

■ Add the food to be cut into the jug. Fill only up to the upper edge of the jug! ■ Attach the lid to the grinding cup and lock it by turning it anti-clockwise. ■ Attach the grinder attachment to the drive on the motor block. ■ Attach the grinder attachment by turning it all the way clockwise. The recessed grips on the lid must be in alignment with the cutout on the motor unit. ■ Insert the mains plug. ■ Switch on the appliance at a setting with a high operating speed.
Note: The longer the appliance remains switched on, the finer the ingredients are ground.
After using the appliance:
■ Set the rotary switch to 0/off. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill. ■ Remove the mains plug. ■ Turn the grinder attachment anti-clockwise and remove. ■ Remove the cover by rotating it in a clockwise direction. ■ Empty the grinding cup. ■ Clean all parts, see “Cleaning and servicing”.
Cleaning and servicing
The appliance requires no maintenance! Thorough cleaning guarantees a long service life.
⚠️ Risk of electric shock!
Never immerse the motor block in water and never hold it under running water, and do not clean it in the dishwasher.
Warning!
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents. Surfaces may be damaged.
Tips:
- Preferably clean the parts immediately after use. This will prevent residue from drying on and attacking the plastic (e.g. by essential oils in herbs).
- If processing e.g. carrots and red cabbage, the plastic parts will become discoloured by a red film which can be removed with a few drops of cooking oil.

Cleaning the motor block
■ Remove mains plug. ■ Wipe motor block with a damp cloth. If required, use a little detergent. ■ Then wipe dry.
Cleaning the blender attachment
⚠️ Risk of injury from sharp blades!
Do not touch blender blades with bare hands. Clean them with a brush.
Do not clean blade holder in the dishwasher, but under running water using a brush. Do not leave in water! The blender jug, smoothie insert, lid and measuring cup are dishwasher-safe.
Tip: Pour a little water and washing-up liquid into the attached blender. Switch on for a few seconds. Pour out the water and rinse the blender with clean water.
Cleaning the grinder attachment

Risk of injury from sharp blades!
Do not touch cutting blade with bare hands. Clean them with a brush.
Do not clean grinding cup in the dishwasher, but under running water using a brush. Do not leave in water! The lid is dishwasher-proof.
Troubleshooting

Risk of injury!
Before rectifying a fault, pull out the mains plug.
Fault:
Appliance does not start or appliance switches off during operation.
Possible cause:
The appliance was overloaded (e.g. blade blocked by an ingredient).
Remedial action:
■ Set the rotary switch to 0/off. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill. ■ Remove mains plug. ■ Eliminate the cause of the overload. ■ Switch the appliance on again.
Possible cause:
Attachment has become detached.
Remedial action:
■ Set the rotary switch to 0/off. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill. ■ Correctly attach the attachment and screw on all the way. ■ Switch the appliance on again.

If the fault cannot be eliminated, please contact customer service (see customer service addresses at the end of this booklet).
Recipes
Quantities adequate for 4 portions.
Water melon juice
- 500 g water melon (peeled)
- 6-8 ice cubes
- 15 g sugar (or syrup, as required) ■ Cut the water melon into small pieces and remove the seeds. ■ Put all ingredients in the blender attachment. Briefly actuate Pulse several times until the ice cubes have been crushed into small pieces. ■ Then blend at a low speed until the juice is thick and creamy and almost all the pieces of fruit have gone.
Banana smoothie
- 2 bananas (approx. 220 g)
- 30 g honey or sugar (as required)
- 480 g of milk
- 10 ice cubes
- Peel the bananas and cut into fairly small pieces. Put into the blender attachment. ■ Add milk and honey (or sugar). ■ Put the ice cubes on top of the ingredients. Briefly actuate Pulse several times until the ice cubes have been crushed into small pieces. ■ Then blend at high speed until the drink is thick and creamy.
Tip: For a “thick” smoothie reduce the amount of milk.
Energy drink
- 500 g low fat milk
- 1 banana (approx. 100 g)
- 60 g sugar
- 40 g cocoa powder ■ Cut the banana into pieces and freeze overnight. ■ Put all ingredients in the blender attachment and blend.
Creamy avocado baby food
- 3 apples or pears (approx. 300 g)
- 200 g avocado
- 150 g water
■ Peel and core the apples (or pears) and cut into pieces.
■ Put the pieces and a little water in a small pan and cook slowly on a low flame until the pieces of fruit are soft. ■ Peel the avocado, cut in half and remove the stone. Cut into pieces. ■ Put the cooked pieces of fruit and the avocado in the blender attachment. Blend with Pulse until the baby food has reached the required consistency.
Mushroom soup
- 450 g white button mushrooms
- 15 g lemon juice
- 20 g unsalted butter
- 30 g finely chopped shallots
- 15 g chopped, fresh thyme (or 1 tsp. dried thyme)
- 1/2 bay leaf - 5 g salt
- 2.5 g ground pepper
- 480 g cream
- 360 g chicken stock
- 5 g cornflour, dissolved in 15 g water – Chopped parsley to garnish ■ Thoroughly clean the mushrooms and cut into quarters or slices. ■ Melt butter in a frying pan and sweat the shallots on a medium heat. ■ Add mushrooms, thyme and bay leaf and fry on a moderate heat for 10-15 minutes until the mushroom liquid has evaporated. ■ Add salt, pepper, cream and chicken stock and bring to the boil on a high heat. Reduce the heat again and simmer for 20 minutes. ■ Add the dissolved cornflour and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. ■ Add seasoning and lemon juice to taste.
■ Put the soup in the blender attachment and briefly actuate Pulse several times until the mushrooms have been chopped into fine pieces. ■ Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
Fried rice
Soya beans, quantity depends on appliance type
115 g for CNSM06 (450 W)
125 g for CNSM07 (600 W)
130 g for CNSM08 (800 W)
- 110 g meat
- 135 g parsley
- 540 g rice - 7 g salt
- 110 ml cooking oil
- 110 g carrots ■ Cook the rice. For best results leave the rice to cool down to room temperature.
- Chop up the soya beans in the grinder attachment at maximum speed for 15 seconds.
Note: If required, Pulse can be used to obtain even finer pieces.
- Cut meat, parsley and carrots into small pieces (approx. 5x5 mm). ■ Individually fry chopped soya beans, meat and carrot. ■ Fry the cooked rice for 5 minutes. ■ Then add meat, carrots, soya beans and parsley and fry everything for a further 10 minutes.

Dispose of packaging in an environmentally-friendly manner. This appliance is labelled in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment – WEEE). The guideline determines the framework for the return and recycling of used appliances as applicable throughout the EU. Please ask your specialist retailer about current disposal facilities.
