BASS MAX
The Bass Max is a double bass transducer designed for quick wedge mounting in one bridge wing. It has a "sandwich" design that layers two transducer discs with a buffering layer in between. This ensures even transmission of all frequencies from both sides of the bridge wing.
We recommend the Bass Max for both arco and pizzicato styles, as it transmits a broad mid frequency range. This enables you to change playing modes without having to adjust the amplifier.
Two Bass Maxes can be applied for stereo sound, but watch out for phase elimination with this configuration. If you want an increased output volume, we recommend a K&K preamp, like the Pure Preamp.

INSTALLATION
You can attach the wing transducer on either side of the bridge. We recommend trying the low string (E string) side first. In case the inter-space is too narrow, file some wood off the area marked in Illustration 1.
In case the inter-space is too big, please insert some cardboard or veneer to achieve a firm fit. You'll achieve best results with a snug fit. DO NOT FORCE THE PICKUP INTO THE SLOT! YOU WILL BREAK THE PIEZO CERAMIC ELEMENT AND VOID THE WARRANTY!
Attach the jack according to Illustration 2, between the inner two strings and below the bridge.

Insert one Bass Max into each side of the bridge. Please check the complete tone range of your instrument for properly balanced transmission. If some notes sound lower in volume, the two transducers are "out of phase." Change the position of one Bass Max until the complete range is transmitted evenly. This installation achieves stereo amplification.
