IN LINE ELECTRONIC AMPLIFIER WITH BY-PASS SWITCH

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

This Amplifier can be mounted in-dash or under the dash.

IN-DASH INSTALLATION

1. Select a location for convenience and appearance. When selecting a location, check behind the dash for any obstructions that may interfere with the installation.

2. Use the template below to mark opening. Drill 1/4"/7mm holes in each of the 4 corners of the opening. Cut between the holes with a saber or hack saw. Square holes and trim with a file. Insert amplifier with trim bezel into the dash.

UNDER-DASH INSTALLATION

1. Select a location for convenience and appearance. When selecting a location check above where the amplifier is to be mounted for any obstructions that may interfere with the installation.
2. Use the supplied bracket as a template. Mark and drill the 2 required 1/8"/3mm holes.
3. Mount the bracket, rib side up with the 2 supplied screws. Slide the amplifier into position on the bracket.

WIRING

Refer to Figure 1.

1. Route the antenna cable to the radio and plug the antenna plug into the radio antenna connector.

NOTE: An extension cable or adaptor cable may be required for 1988-up GM radios and some import installations.

1. Connect the RED power wire from the UA60 to the switched +12 volt wire from the fuse block, or the +12 volt wire to the radio, or to the blue power antenna wire from the radio.

ANTENNA TRIMMER ADJUSTMENT

With antenna fully extended and radio tuned to a weak AM station around 1400KHz, turn trimmer with screwdriver for maximum volume. See radio owners manual for location of antenna trimmer. Digital radios do not require trimming.
