Comment allumer le thermomètre Vicks Digital V901G ?

CHANGING THE DISPLAY FROM FAHRENHEIT (F) OR CELSIUS (C):

With the thermometer in the OFF position, hold down the center button until the display shows L. Release the button. To choose desired scale, press the button again to move between the °F' or °C' icon shown below the L. Once the °C' or °F' starts to blink, push the button again to turn off the thermometer. You can now turn on the thermometer and the display will be in Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C) based on the scale you set in the above steps. Your thermometer will return to Fahrenheit (F) readings when you replace your battery. You can repeat this process to switch to Celsius (C).

TEMPERATURE READINGS

Temperature readings vary from person to person. Although there is no one “normal” temperature reading, a temperature, taken orally, ranging between 97°F and 100°F is considered normal. A rectal temperature is generally 1°F higher and an underarm (axillary) temperature is generally 1°F lower than an oral temperature reading.

The best method to determine your own normal temperature is to use the thermometer when you are feeling well. Record your reading twice a day (early morning and late afternoon). Take the average of the two temperatures. This is considered your normal body temperature. Any variation from it may indicate some sort of illness and you should consult your physician.

BEFORE USE

Your Vicks Digital Thermometer is a 3-in-1 thermometer for oral, rectal, or underarm use. Whichever method is used, it is recommended that for 15 minutes prior to use, avoid eating or drinking any liquids, exercising, taking showers or baths or smoking.

IMPORTANT: Before first use, remove label from the display.

OPERATING YOUR Vicks DIGITAL THERMOMETER

1.TURNING THE UNIT ON

1. Turn unit on by pressing the On/Off button (Fig. 1).

2. Wait for unit to get ready.

- A beep will sound and the display will perform a self-test for about 2 seco

– The display will show last measurement for 2 seconds (Fig. 3)

- When the thermometer starts to measure, the display will show "L" if lower than

90 degrees F (Fig. 4).

2. SELECTING A TEMPERATURE LOCATION

Oral Use

1. YOU MUST COVER THE THERMOMETER'S TIP WITH A SINGLE-USE, DISPOSABLE PROVE COVER. Probe cover not included. Single-use, disposable probe covers for digital stick thermometers are available for purchase at retail chain stores and pharmacies.

2. It is important to place the tip of the thermometer well under the tongue to get a good, accurate reading. (Fig. 5) Place sensor tip in areas marked with “√”. Keep mouth closed and sit still to help ensure an accurate measurement.

3. When the peak temperature is reached, 10 beep signals will sound and the “F” sign will stop flashing.

4. Turn the thermometer off by pressing the On/Off button. If you forget to turn it off, the thermometer will

automatically turn off after approximately 10 minutes.

Under-the-arm (Axillary) Use

This method is used for babies and young children.

2. Wipe the underarm with a towel.

3. Place the probe tip under the arm so the tip is touching the skin and position your arm next to your body (Fig. 6). Fig. 5

With a young child, it is sometimes helpful to hug the child to keep their arm next to their body. This

ensures that the room air does not affect the reading.

1. When the peak temperature is reached, 10 beep signals will sound and the “*” sign will stop flashing. The temperature is now confirmed. Note: This method produces a temperature 1°F (0.6°C) lower than a temperature taken orally.

2. Turn the thermometer off by pressing the On/Off button. If you forget to turn it off, the thermometer will

automatically turn off after approximately 10 minutes.

1. Dispose of used probe cover (not included) and wash the thermometer as recommended.

Rectal Use

commonly used for babies, young children, or when it is difficult to take an oral or underarm temperature.

1. YOU MUST COVER THE THERMOMETER'S TIP WITH A SINGLE-USE, DISPOSABLE PROVE COVER AND LUBRICATE WITH A WATER SOLUABLE JELLY FOR EASIER INSERTION. DO NOT use a petroleum jelly. Read the label of the lubricant to be sure you are using the right kind. Probe cover not included. Single-use, disposable probe covers for digital stick thermometers are available for purchase at retail chain stores and pharmacies.

2. Lay the patient on his/her side. If the patient is an infant, the proper position for a baby is to lay on its stomach with legs hanging down, either

across your knees or at the edge of a bed or changing table. This positions the infant's rectum for safe and easy insertion of the thermometer.

1. Gently insert the tip of the thermometer NO MORE THAN 1/2 inch into the rectum. If you detect resistance, stop. Hold the thermometer in place

during measurement.

1. When the peak temperature is reached 10 beep signals will sound and the "°F" sign will stop flashing. The temperature is now confirmed.

Note: This method produces a temperature 1° higher than a temperature taken orally.

1. Turn the thermometer off by pressing the On/Off button. If you forget to turn it off, the thermometer will automatically turn off after approximately 10 minutes.

2. Dispose of used probe cover (not included) and wash and disinfect the thermometer as recommended.

FEVER SIGNAL

The Fever Signal feature alerts you of temperature readings above 99.5°F with a flashing display and a rapid alarm tone that lasts for about 10 seconds.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

- Clean the probe tip by washing with soap and warm water or by disinfecting with rubbing alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol).

Wipe dry with soft cloth.

DO NOT BOIL OR CLEAN IN DISHWASHER. This will cause the thermometer to no longer function and will void the warranty

DO NOT wash the unit with any thinner or chemical solvent.

CHANGING THE BATTERIES

The Vicks Digital Thermometer features a long life battery. When the “▽” appears in the lower right of the display, the battery is exhausted and needs replacing.

1. Unscrew the battery cap with a coin.

2. Replace the battery with a 1.55V, LR41 alkaline, L736 or SR41 silver oxide type or equivalent. Insert the new battery with the positive (+) side facing the back of the unit.

3. Replace the cover and screw back into place, making sure that the cap is secure to protect the battery compartment from moisture.

STORAGE AND USE

Operating or storing outside these ranges and dropping the thermometer may negatively impact the measurement and potentially damage the thermometer.

- Operating environment must be between 50^ - 104^

- Operating and storage environment must be between 15-95% relative humidity.

• Store between -4°F and 122°F.

• If core body temperature is lower than ambient temperature the reading may be negatively impacted.

To protect the environment, dispose of empty batteries at appropriate collection sites according

to national or local regulations. Keep out of reach of young children, elderly and pets.

SPECIFICATIONS

Battery Life: 500 measurements after stored 1-2 years if used every other day.

CAMBIAR LA PANTALLA DE FAHRENHEIT (F) O CELSIUS (C):

Con el termómetro en posición APAGADO, mantenga presionado el botón del centro hasta que la pantalla muestra L. Deje de presionar el botón. Para seleccionar la escala desedea, presione nuevamente el botón para moverse entre el icono "F" o "C" mostrado abajo de L. Una vez que la "C" o "F" empiece a parpadear, presione el botón de nuevo para apagar el termómetro. Ahora puede encender el termómetro y la pantalla mostrará Fahrenheit (F) o Césius (C) según la escala que seleccionó en los anteriores pasos. Su termómetro volverá a las lecturas Fahrenheit (F) cuando cambie la pila. Puede repetir este proceso para cambiar a Césius (C).

LECTURAS DE TEMPERATURA

Las temperaturas varían de una persona a otra. Aunque no existe una temperatura “normal”, se considera normal una temperatura, tomada por vía oral, entre 97°F (36.1°C) y 100°F (37.8°C). Una temperatura rectal es generalmente 1° F más alta y una temperatura bajo el brazo (axilar) es generalmente 1° F más baja que una medición de temperatura tomada por vía oral.

La mejor manera de establecer su propia temperatura normal es de usar el termómetro cuando se siente bien. Anote su temperatura dos veces al día (a primera hora de la mañana y a última hora de la tarde). Calcele el promedio de las dos temperaturas. Esto se considera como su temperatura corporal normal. Cualquier variación puede indicar algún tipo de enfermedad y debe llamar a su médico.

ANTES DE USAR

Su Termómetro Digital Vicks es un termómetro 3-en-1 para uso oral, rectal o axilar. Cualquier método que elige, se recomienda que durante 15 minutos antes de usarlo, evite comer o beber cualquier líquido, hacer ejercicio, bañarse o ducharse.

PARA USAR SU TERMÔMETRO DIGITAL Vicks

3. Espere mientras el termómetro se inicia.
4. Una señal sonora se escuchará y la ventanilla realizará una auto-revisión por alrededor de 2 segundos (Fig. 2).
5. La ventanilla mostrará la última medición durante 1 segundo (Fig. 3).
6. Cuando el termómetro comience la medición, la ventanilla mostrará "L" si es menor a

90 grados F (Fig. 4).

2. PARA ELEGIR DONDE TOMAR LA TEMPERATURA

Uso Oral

1. DEBE CUBRIR LA PUNTA DEL TERMÓMETRO CON UNA CUBIERTA DE SONDA DESECHABLE, DE UN SÓLO USO. Cubierta de sonda no incluida. Las cubiertas de sonda desechables de un solo uso para termómetros digitales de varilla están disponibles para su compra en cadenas de tiendas minoristas y farmacias.

2. Se sugiere usar una cubierta para sonda para uso oral. Deseche la cubierta para sonda después de tomar la temperatura

3. Es importante colocar la punta del termómetro bien abajo de la lengua para obtener una lectura buena y precisa. (Fig. 5) Coloque la punta del sensor en las áreas marcadas con “√”. Mantenga la boca cerrada y no se mueva para ayudar a obtener una medición precisa.
4. Cuando se alcanza la temperatura máxima, se escucharán 10 señales sonoras, el símbolo “F” dejará de parpadear.
5. Apague el termómetro presionando el botón encendido / apagado. Si olvida apagarlo, el termómetro se apagará de manera automática después de aproximadamente 10 minutos.
6. Deseche la cubiera de la sonda usada (no incluida) y lave y desinfecte la punta según lo recomendado.

Uso debajo del Brazo (Axila)

Se usa este método para bebes y niños pequeños.

1. DEBE CUBRIR LA PUNTA DEL TERMÓMETRO CON UNA CUBIERTA DE SONDA DESECHABLE, DE UN SÓLO USO. Cubierta de sonda no incluida. Las cubiertas de sonda desechables de un solo uso para termómetros digitales de varilla están disponibles para su compra en cadenas de tiendas minoristas y farmacias.

2. Limpie debajo del brazo con una toalla.

3. Coloque la punta de la sonda debajo del brazo para que la punta toque la piel y ponga su brazo al lado de su cuerpo (Fig. 6). Con un niño pequeño, algunas veces ayuda abrazar al niño para guardar su brazo al lado de su cuerpo. Esto asegura que el aire de la habitación no afecte a la lectura.

Uso Rectal

Por lo general se emplea para bebes, niños pequeños o cuando es difícil tomar la temperatura por vía oral o debajo del brazo.
1. DEBE CUBRIR LA PUNTA DEL TERMÓMETRO CON UNA CUBIERTA DE SONDA DESECHABLE, DE UN SÓLO USO Y LUBRICARLA CON GEL SOLUBLE EN AGUA PARA FACILITAR SU INSERCIÓN. NO use vaselina. Lea la etiqueta del lubricante para asegurarse que esté usando del tipo correcto. Cubierta de sonda no incluida. Las cubiertas de

2. Acueste al paciente de lado. Si el paciente es un bebe, la posición correcta para un bebe es acostado sobre su estomago con sus piernas colgadas hacia abajo, o en sus

PARA VOLVER A VER LA ÚLTIMA TEMPERATURA

Cuando encienda el termómetro, la última medición de temperatura se mostrará por aproximadamente 1 segundo en la ventanilla LCD.

INSTRUCCIONES DE LIMPIEZA

- Limpie la punta de la sonda lavándola con jabón y agua tibia o desinfectándola con alcohol de uso externo (70% alcohol isopropílico).

- Seque con un paño suave.

• NO PONGA A HERVIR O LAVE EN LAVAVAJILLAS. Esto hará que el termómetro deje de funcionar y anulará la garantía.

• NO lave la unidad con ningún disolvente de pinturas o solvente químico.

PARA CAMBIAR LA PILA

El Termómetro Digital Vicks incluye una pila de larga duración. Cuando aparece un "▽" que destella en el centro de la parte superior, la pila se está aotado y se tiene que reemplazar.

1. Abra la tapa del compartimiento para pila.

2. Saque con cuidado la pila usando un instrumento puntiagudo no metálico.

3. Inserte la nueva pila equivalente (1.55v, LR41, L736 o SR41). Asegúrese que la pila esté bien colocada con el lado positivo (+) hacia arriba o hacia el lado posterior del termómetro.

Para proteger el medio ambiente, deseche las baterías usadas en lugares apropiados de recolección de acuerdo con las regulaciones nacionales o locales. Mantega lejos del alcance de niños, personas mayores y mascotas.
