Why won't my Ring Doorbell Elite enter setup mode?

If your Ring Doorbell Elite won't enter setup mode, check the following points in this order:

1. Check the power and wiring

Connect the Elite power kit to a wall outlet using the provided adapter
Use the short Ethernet cable (0.9 m) to connect the kit to your Internet router
Connect the long cable (15.2 m) to the back of the device
Make sure all connectors are securely plugged in

2. Interpret the front LED indicators

The device should display a spinning white light indicating that it is in setup mode and waiting for instructions from the Ring app. If you see:

No light: check that the power is properly connected
Flashing white at the top: Wi-Fi password issue (if using Wi-Fi mode)
Flashing white on the right: weak Wi-Fi signal, move the router closer
Flashing white on the left: Internet connection issue

3. Reset the device

Press and hold the setup button located on the back of the doorbell for 15 seconds. Wait 30 seconds, then restart the setup via the Ring app by selecting "Set Up a Device".

4. If Wi-Fi setup fails

If you are setting up over Wi-Fi and the connection fails, go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings, forget the Ring network, then reconnect by entering the correct password.
