Frequently Asked Questions - MB15b ProMatch ROLLS

How do I connect the MB15b ProMatch?
Connect your unbalanced source (e.g., mixer, CD player) to the RCA input jacks. Connect the XLR outputs to your balanced input device (e.g., powered speakers, audio interface). Ensure the ground lift switch is set appropriately to avoid hum.
What power options are available?
The MB15b can be powered by a 9V battery (not included) or an external 9V DC power supply (center positive, 2.1 mm barrel, not included). Battery life is approximately 20 hours.
When should I use the ground lift switch?
Use the ground lift switch when you encounter a ground loop hum or buzz in your audio signal. Lifting the ground disconnects the input ground from the output ground, which can eliminate unwanted noise.
Why is there no sound or very low volume?
Check that the input level control is turned up. Verify all cables are fully inserted and not damaged. Ensure the source device is outputting signal. If using a battery, test with a fresh battery or external power supply.
Can I use the MB15b with a microphone?
No, the MB15b is designed for line-level signals only. Microphone signals require a preamp. Connecting a mic directly may result in very low or no output.
What is the maximum input level?
The MB15b can accept input levels up to +20 dBu without distortion. For higher levels, use an attenuator.
How do I clean the unit?
Disconnect all cables and power. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any liquids or abrasive cleaners.
Is the MB15b compatible with 75-ohm video signals?
No, the MB15b is intended for audio signals only. It does not support video signals despite the 'audio/video converter' category. Use a dedicated video balun for video.
What should I do if the unit gets hot?
Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not stack other devices on top. If the unit becomes excessively hot, turn it off and contact Rolls support.
Where can I find the user manual or support?
The user manual is available for free download on the notice-facile.com website. For technical support, visit the Rolls Corporation website or contact their support team.
