How do I use the Khind RCJ1009 rice cooker?
Measure rice with the included cup, rinse, add water to the corresponding level inside the pot, place pot in cooker, close lid, plug in and press the switch down. When rice is cooked, the switch will pop up and the cooker will automatically switch to Keep Warm mode.
How much rice can I cook in the RCJ1009?
The maximum capacity is 1 liter, which yields about 5 cups of cooked rice. Do not exceed the maximum fill line inside the pot.
Can I cook other grains besides rice?
Yes, you can cook quinoa, oatmeal, or even steam vegetables using the included steamer basket. Adjust water accordingly and monitor cooking time.
Why does my rice stick to the pot?
Ensure you rinse the rice thoroughly before cooking to remove excess starch. Also, avoid using metal utensils that can scratch the non-stick coating; use the provided spatula instead.
How do I clean the rice cooker?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. The inner pot can be washed with mild detergent and a soft sponge; do not use abrasive cleaners. The lid and steam vent can be wiped clean. Do not immerse the base in water.
Does the rice cooker automatically shut off?
Yes, once the cooking cycle completes, the cooker switches from Cook to Keep Warm mode automatically. If you want to turn it off, unplug the unit.
Can I leave the rice cooker on 'Keep Warm' overnight?
While it is safe to keep warm for up to 12 hours, it is not recommended to leave it unattended for extended periods. For best quality, consume rice within a few hours.
What safety features does the RCJ1009 have?
