• Do not insert finger or other objects into the Electric Water Heater units.
• Do not spray water to the equipment or put wet towels on it.

• Do not fixed the lever forcibly with tape, etc. if the ELB reset lever cannot be set even if you push it up.

• Switch "OFF" the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) before any service.

• When the unit is used by someone such as child, old person, sick person and physically handicapped person, the concern person is kindly requested to pay attention and check the water temperature by using hand from time to time.
• Pay attention to water temperature when reducing the water volume. The water temperature will become very hot if the water flow rate is too low.

It is recommended to install Pressure Reducing Valve at the inlet pipe (before Filter Body Assembly) if the inlet water pressure is higher than the specification of this product.

This unit must be earthed.

Improper grounding could cause electric shock.

Explanation: When removing the unit from package, some water may be found inside. This is normal as the unit is tested during the manufacturing process.

Please engage an authorized dealer or specialist for the installation work. You are requested to check the following points before using the equipment. If you have any questions or doubts about the equipment, please consult the nearest Panasonic Water Heater Service Centre.

(1) Is this equipment earthed?
(2) When the aboves are not supplied, immediately ask the shop to install the earth before use.

(1) Turn on the Main Water Valve ①.
(2) Switch "ON" the Miniature Circuit Breaker ②.
(3) Push up both ELB RESET Lever ⑤ if it is down. (The ELB indicating lamp lights when the Power Selector Knob ③ is activated).
(4) Set the Power Selector Knob ③ to the desired position.

Turn on the Hot Water Faucet ④.

Then the ELB Lamp Lights and the equipment operates.

NOTE : • The water temperature lowers as the volume of water is increased by opening the Faucet.

- The water temperature rises as the volume of water is decreased by closing the Faucet.

(1) When the Power Selector Knob ③ is set to "HI", Power Level is high.
(2) When the Power Selector Knob ③ is set to "MED", Power Level is medium.
(3) When the Power Selector Knob ③ is set to "LO", Power Level is low.
(4) When it set to "OFF" the power is cut off and outlet water temperature is same with inlet water temperature.

(1) Note that the hot water temperature will be very high if the flow rate is excessively reduced.

6. MAINTENANCE / 維修

(1) Inspection on built in ELB (once a month)

1) Press the Test Button of the ELB Test Button until both of the ELB RESET Lever come down. If the ELB is normal, both of the ELB RESET Lever will come down. The ELB RESET Lever is behind the Front Plate. If both of the ELB RESET Lever not come down, inform the dealer of the matter.
2) Push up both of the ELB RESET Lever to reset the ELB. If one or both of the ELB RESET Lever cannot push up, inform the dealer of the matter.

(2) Main body cleaning.

Be sure to switch off the Miniature

Circuit Breaker beforehand.

1) Clean it with cloth moistened.

2) Never use benzine, thinner etc.

(3) Filter Unit cleaning.

Clean the Filter Unit with water every week. Clean the Filter Unit when you feel that hot water is not drawn normally. The Filter Unit can be easily removed by turning the Filter Unit counterclockwise after closing the Main Water Valve. Tighten it back after washing the Filter Unit.

NOTE : A safety device is incorporated in the Filter Unit. (Avoid turning this part)

(3) 清洗過濾器組件

Please make sure the O Ring is not remove and shall be free from foreign obstacle to avoid water leaking.

Pressure Relief Device is incorporated to prevent the building up of excessive water pressure inside the unit due to closed outlet or incoming water pressure too high. Water will be discharged from the top of the Filter Knob in case of the Pressure Relief Device is activated, this is not a sign of any trouble. Adjust the Main Water Valve to cease the water from flowing out from Pressure Relief Device.

(1) If you use water at a point other than the shower, the water pressure will drop and the water flow may become weak or the hot water temperature may rise. However, this is not a sign of any trouble. Adjust the hot water temperature to a proper level with the Hot Water Faucet.
(2) In time of thunder/lightning, switch off the Miniature Circuit Breaker in advance to protect the Shower Body against possible damage.
(3) If the ELB RESET Lever cannot be set even if you push it up or if soon come down during operation, be sure to inform the matter to the dealer from you purchased the Heater. Never fix the level forcibly with tape etc.
(4) Please do not be alarmed as some water may flow out from the unit during unpacking as the set has been tested with water in the factory.
(5) Do not remove Power Selector Knob from unit.
(6) Caution: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as timer or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

(7) When the unit is used by someone such as child, old person, sick person and physically handicapped person, the concern person is kindly requested to pay attention and check the water temperature by using hand from time to time.

(8) In case of continuous usage at high temperature setting, water temperature will increase and it may cause the control device to activate temporarily resulting in water temperature to drop.

(2) If abnormalities as mentioned below are found during usage, contact nearest Panasonic Water Heater Service Centre immediately.

1) Water leakage. 3) Water temperature cannot be controlled.
2) No water flow 4) ELB lamp does not light up.

(3) Special skill is required for repairing. Never try to repair the unit by yourself.

Ensure the installation location (Example : On top of Roof, Ceiling, Confine Cabinet, Outdoor, etc) shall not lead to smoke emission, ignition, fire, electric shock and damage to property in case of water leak. Water leak could occur when Pressure Relief Device is activated, improper installation piping condition, etc.

• How to measure the water pressure.

Water should come out of the host 1.5m above the Power Selector Knob as illustrated.

The unit must be permanently connected to the Main Supply of AC230V 50 A.

(1) Where to install the unit.

• Be sure to install the unit on the wall as illustrated in Figure 1.
• Do not install the unit as shown in Figure 2 (Not at wall surface).
• The unit must be installed at a location where it can prevent from water splash during operation.
• Do not install the unit outside house as shown in Figure 3.

(2) Remove the Front Plate of the unit.

• Make sure the Power Selector Knob at off position.
- Remove the Screw at the bottom of the unit.
- Remove the Front Plate first at the bottom and then unhook the top part.
- Do not pull out the Power Selector Knob.
- Remove the 'T' Cap from the unit before installation.

(3) How to fix Home Shower unit.

• Unit should be more than 250mm at right and
  left of the wall.
• Mount the unit on the wall with 4 Screws.

(4) Installation on concrete, brick or tiled wall.

① Make the Wall Plug hole in the wall by mean of a drill.
② Drive a Wall Plug into the hole.
③ Drive each Screw into the upper Wall Plugs through the Screw Holes on the set.
After tighten up the two upper Screws, tighten up the remaining two Screws.
④ Please ensure the set screwed tightly on wall by shaking it left and right.

(Note: The set must be mounted with 4 Screws).

(6) Close the Front Plate

① Make sure the Power Selector Knob on Front Plate and "D-Cut" at OFF position.
② Close the Front Plate of the unit according to the sequence as illustrated.

(1) Tee joint must be installed between the Main Water Valve and Flexible Pipe.
(2) Place Rubber Packing between Filter Body Assembly and Flexible Pipe. Do not use Piping Tape. Tighten it by spanner firmly.
(3) Place Rubber Packing between Filter Body Assembly and Main Body. Do not use Piping Tape. Tighten it by hand firmly.
(4) Be sure to install the Filter Body Assembly between the Flexible Pipe and the Main Body. (It is incorporated with Filter Unit and Pressure Relief Device).
(5) It is highly recommended that non-electricity conductive material of pipes with minimum length of 1 meter is connected to inlet and outlet of the water heater.
(6) The Filter Body Assembly should be placed in the front direction of the unit.

(2) 把橡膠襯墊置放於易彎曲管及過濾器裝配之間后以螺旋鉗擰緊。不可使用白膠帶。
(3) 把橡膠襯墊置放於過濾器裝配及機體間後以手擰緊，不可使用白膠帶。
(4) 過濾器裝配必須安裝於易彎的水管和機體之間。（这是合併於過濾器鈕与泄压裝置中）。
(5) 它强烈建议使用最少1米长的非电导体材料管道以连接到電熱噴水器的入水口和出水口。
(6) 過濾器裝配應調至此機的正前方。

WARNING :

• Do not share the inlet pipe of Water heater unit with other outlet. The pressure may drop or back flow may happen when water was drawn off at other point. The water temperature may become very hot.
• Never install Filter Body Assembly at the outlet. Inlet water cannot be filtered and allows foreign particles to enter the unit. It will cause Heater Unit to be clog up.

- When glue is used for external piping connection, must wait for the glue to dry before processed to test run with water.

Pure electrical circuit lines without any symbols

(1) Before carry out any electrical work, switch off at mains.

• Use double-coated cable of 6.0 mm²
- Lead the Power Cable from the indoor power board and install the Miniature Circuit Breaker outside the bathroom.

(2) Make the wiring to the Unit as following (2a) or (2b)

(2a) Break the fitting rubber attached to the case side and pass the cable through it.
(2b) Lead the cable from the back of the Back Plate.

- Unscrew the cord holder and fix the cable. Strip the cable (coating) ends and fasten them to the ELB (L,N) with 1 N·m torque.

(3) Connect wires in correct polarity (L, N)

• Connect the wires in wrong polarity (L, N) causes an abnormal condition which may lead to leaking, burning, etc.
• Before wiring, please check polarity (L, N) with voltage range of a tester or voltmeter by connecting one terminal of the meter to earth while the other to one of the Power Supply terminals.
• When the needle of the meter deflects greatly, the polarity of the Power Supply terminal is 'L'.

(4) The unit must be earthed. Earth Rod handling procedure.

• Select a adapter place to bury the optional Earth Rod (DQ-6H)
• The Earth Rod should be buried 70cm at least into the ground surface.
  • Make sure that the ground resistance is less than 100Ω
• If the ground resistance is not less than 100 , drive the rod deeper into ground surface or use 2 or 3 rods.

(1) · Turn on the Main Water Valve.

- Check if water leaks from the pipe line.

(2) • Before switch on electricity, check the wiring.

• Set the Miniature Circuit Breaker to "ON".
• Set the ELB of the unit to "ON" (Push up the Reset Lever)
• Push the Test Button of the ELB Test Button.
• It is normal if the ELB turns "OFF" (the RESET Lever falls) and set the ELB to "ON" again.

(3) · Open the Hot Water Faucet and set the power.

- Set Power Selector Knob to LO, MED or HI. When the ELB Lamp is light up, the hot water will flow out.

(4) Regulate the Hot Water Faucet so that the hot water temperature becomes optimum.

• Too hot * Further open the Faucet. * Check for clogging of the piping
  • Too cold * Reduce the volume of water
