Frequently Asked Questions - LTV-TH1 LA CROSSE TECHNOLOGY

How do I set up my LTV-TH1 sensor?
Insert two AAA alkaline batteries into the sensor. The LED indicator will flash briefly. Place the sensor within 300 feet of the main display. The sensor automatically transmits data every 60 seconds.
Why is my sensor not showing any readings?
Check that the batteries are correctly installed and fresh. Ensure the sensor is within transmission range. Press and hold the TX button (if available) to force a signal. Move the sensor closer to the display to test.
Can I use this sensor outdoors?
Yes, the LTV-TH1 is designed for outdoor use but is not waterproof. Place it in a shaded, sheltered area away from direct rain, snow, or splashing water to ensure longevity.
What type of batteries does it use?
It uses 2 x AAA alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries as they provide lower voltage and may affect performance. Replace both batteries at the same time when low battery icon appears.
How do I mount the sensor?
The sensor has a table stand and a wall mount hole. For wall mounting, use a screw (not included) to hang the sensor by the hole. Ensure it is level and secure.
What is the temperature and humidity range?
Temperature range: -20°F to 140°F (-28.9°C to 60°C). Humidity range: 10% to 99% Relative Humidity. Outside these ranges, readings may be inaccurate.
How do I reset the sensor?
Remove both batteries, wait 30 seconds, then reinstall them. The sensor will power up and attempt to reconnect to the display. If the issue persists, press and hold the TX button for 3 seconds.
Why are the readings incorrect or fluctuating?
Fluctuations are normal as the sensor responds to changes. Ensure the sensor is away from heat sources, direct sunlight, or moisture. Check that it is within range and not obstructed by metal or concrete.
Can I pair multiple sensors to one display?
Some La Crosse Technology displays support additional sensors. Check your display's manual for compatibility. Usually, you can add up to 3 sensors using different channels (selectable via a switch on the sensor).
What should I do if the sensor stops working after a firmware update?
Firmware updates are typically not applicable to this sensor. If issues arise after an update of the display, perform a factory reset on the display and re-pair the sensor by removing and reinstalling batteries in both units.
