1.1 General safety
- Do not use the appliance outdoors or in the bathroom.
- Operate the appliance with its original base. Do not use the base for any other purpose.
- Do not use the appliance with damp or wet hands.
Before using the appliance for the first time, clean all parts which come into contact with water carefully. Please see details in the “Cleaning and Care” section.
Prevent damage to the power cord by not squeezing, bending or rubbing it on sharp edges. Keep the cord away from hot surfaces and open flames.
Never use the appliance in or near to combustible, inflammable places and materials.
Operate the appliance with delivered parts only.
Operate the appliance with its original base. Do not use the base for any other purpose.
Always use the appliance on a stable, flat, clean and dry surface.

- Hold the appliance by the handle only. There is a danger of burns. Avoid contact with hot surfaces as well as with the emitting steam.
- Position the lid so that the hot steam is directed away from you.
- Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. Be careful while you are opening the lid after the water has boiled. The steam which comes out of the kettle is very hot.
- Make sure that when using the kettle, the lid always remains closed properly.
- Never fill the kettle above the maximum level indicator. If it is overfilled, then boiling water may splash out.
- Do not fill the kettle below the minimum level indicator.
- Never operate the appliance without any water inside it.
- Do not fill the kettle when it is fitted on its base.

- Our BEKO Household Appliances meet applicable safety standards, thus if the appliance or power cord is damaged, it must be repaired or replaced by the dealer, a service centre or a similarly qualified and authorized service person to avoid any dangers. Faulty or unqualified repair work may cause danger and risks to the user.
- Make sure that there is no danger that the power cord could be accidentally pulled or that someone could trip over it when the appliance is in use.
- Check if the mains voltage on the rating label corresponds to your local mains supply. The only way to disconnect the appliance from the mains is to pull out the plug.
- Do not use the appliance with damp or wet hands.
- For additional protection, this device should be connected to a household faulty current protection switch with no more than 30 mA.

1.2 Compliance with WEEE regulation and disposal of the waste product

This product does not contain harmful and forbidden materials described in the “Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment” (WEEE) issued by the T.R. Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Complies with the WEEE Directive.
This product has been manufactured with high quality parts and materials which can be reused and are suitable for recycling. Therefore, do not dispose of the product with normal domestic waste at the end of its service life. Take it to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. Please consult your local authorities to learn the nearest collection point. Help protect the environment and natural resources by recycling used products. For children's safety, cut the power cable and break the locking mechanism of the loading door so that it will be non-functional before disposing of the product.
1.3 Package information

Packaging materials of the product are manufactured from recyclable materials in accordance with our National Environment Regulations. Do not dispose of the packaging materials together with domestic or other wastes. Take them to the packaging collection points designated by the local authorities.

3 Preparation
3.1 Initial use
Before using the appliance for the first time, clean all parts that come into contact with water carefully (see 4.1).
3.2 Operation
- Open the water tank cover (5) and fill the water tank (8) with at least 3 cups of water, up to the MAX marking on the water level display (7).

Use only clean, cold, and fresh drinking water.
- Close water tank cover (5).
- Open swivel filter holder (4) by swinging the filter holder handle (6) out to the left.
- Fill the desired amount of ground coffee up to the MAX marking of the permanent filter (7). To do this, you may use the supplied coffee measuring spoon (11).

As an alternative to the permanent filter, a suitable paper filter may also be used, which can be inserted right into the swivel filter holder (4).
- Close the screw-on lid (3) of the thermal jug (9). The arrow of the screw-on lid (3) must be across from the arrow marking for “closed” on the thermal jug handle (2).
- Place the thermal jug (9) on the support for thermal jug (10).
- Connect the plug into the wall socket.
- To turn the appliance on, press the On / Off switch (1) to the "I" position, in order to turn it on.
- On / Off switch (1) indicator light illuminates and brewing process begins.

The brewing process can be stopped at any time by pressing On /Off switch (1) to position “0”.
3 Preparation
- The appliance is equipped with a drip-stop (13) located underneath the swivel filter holder (12) and enables you to briefly remove the thermal jug (9) to pour coffee before the water has finished running through the machine.

WARNING: However make sure to place the thermal jug (9) on the support for thermal jug (10) within a very short time (max. 30 seconds). Otherwise the coffee liquid from the filter could overflow.
- Remove thermal jug (9) from the support for thermal jug (10), as soon as the brewing process has finished and thermal jug (9) is filled.
- To pour coffee, turn the screw-on lid (3) counterclockwise until the arrow on the screw-on lid (3) is aligned with the arrow marking for "open".

You can keep coffee hot in the thermal jug (9) for up to approximately 1 hour.
- To turn the appliance off, press the On/Off switch (1) to the "O" position.
- The On/Off switch (1) indicator light turns off, and the appliance turns off.
- Disconnect the appliance from the wall socket.

If you want to continue the brewing process, repeat the procedure from steps 1 to 12. Let the appliance cool down between each brewing process.
4 Cleaning and care
4.1 Cleaning
- Turn the appliance off and disconnect it from the wall socket.
- Let the appliance cool down completely.
- Open the swivel filter holder (4), remove the permanent filter (12), and dispose of the used coffee grounds.
- Use a damp soft cloth and a little mild cleanser to clean the exterior of the appliance.

WARNING: Never use petrol, solvents or abrasive cleaners, metal objects or hard brushes to clean the appliance.

WARNING: Never put the appliance or power cord in water or any other liquid.
- The permanent filter (12) and thermal jug (9) can be cleaned in dishwasher or under running water.

Before using the appliance after cleaning, dry all parts carefully using a soft towel.
4.2 Descaling
Descaling extends the life of your appliance. Descale your coffee machine at least 4 times per year. Period depends on the water hardness of your area. The harder the water is, the more often the appliance has to be descaled.
- Purchase a suitable descaling solution or citric acid from a specialty store. Please ask for device.
- Prior to beginning the descaling process read the manufacturer's package insert for the descaling solution thoroughly. Should the manufacturer's instructions differ from the ones listed below, then follow the manufacturer's instructions.
4 Cleaning and care

You can also use white vinegar and lemon acid instead of a commercially available descaler.
- Fill the water tank to the MAX marking and add the descaling solution. Mixing ratio: 4 parts water to 1 part descaling solution.
- Turn on the appliance and let about one large coffee cup full run through the machine.
- Turn the coffee machine off.
- Let the mixture soak for about 15 minutes.
- Repeat steps 4 - 6.
- Now turn the appliance on and let the entire mixture run through.
- Fill the water tank with cold, fresh drinking water and let all the water run through.
- Repeat step 9 four times.
- Now you may brew coffee again.
4.3 Storage
- If you do not plan to use the appliance for a long period of time, please store it carefully.
- Make sure the appliance is unplugged and completely dry.
- Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
- Make sure the appliance is kept out of the reach of children.
