Frequently Asked Questions - BD2B-G5 Fotile

How do I properly install the Fotile BD2B-G5 dishwasher?
Ensure the dishwasher is placed on a level floor and connected to a 230 V/50 Hz power supply. Connect water inlet hose to a cold water line with a 3/4-inch thread. The drain hose must not exceed 4 meters in length and should be looped to prevent backflow. Refer to the installation manual for detailed steps.
What should I do if the dishwasher does not start?
Check if the door is properly closed and latched. Verify that the power cord is plugged in and the circuit breaker is on. Ensure the water supply is open. If the problem persists, press the reset button or consult the troubleshooting section.
How do I select the correct washing program?
Press the program button to cycle through the available options: Eco, Intensive, Normal, Quick, Glass, etc. The Eco program is recommended for normally soiled dishes with low energy and water consumption. Refer to the program chart in the manual for specific usage.
Why is my dishwasher not draining water?
First, check if the drain hose is kinked or clogged. Clean the coarse filter and fine filter under running water. Ensure the drain pump impeller is not obstructed. If the issue continues, the drain pump may need replacement.
How often should I clean the filters?
Clean the filters after every few cycles to maintain performance. Rinse the coarse filter under running water and scrub the fine filter with a soft brush. For heavy use, deep clean once a month using a dishwasher cleaner.
Can I use regular dish soap instead of dishwasher detergent?
No, never use regular dish soap as it creates excessive suds and may damage the machine. Use only automatic dishwasher detergent (powder, gel, or tablets). Additionally, use rinse aid for optimal drying.
What does the salt indicator light mean?
The salt indicator flashes when the water softener requires regeneration salt. Open the salt reservoir cap, add dishwasher salt until full, then tighten the cap. The light will turn off after a few cycles.
How do I reset the dishwasher?
Press and hold the Start/Reset button for 3 seconds to cancel a running program. If the dishwasher is unresponsive, turn off the power at the circuit breaker for 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
What should I avoid placing in the dishwasher?
Do not wash items made of wood, pewter, copper, or delicate crystal unless labeled dishwasher-safe. Also avoid hand-painted ceramics, non-stick pans, and plastic items not rated for high temperatures.
How can I reduce energy consumption?
Use the Eco program for lightly soiled loads. Run the dishwasher only when full. Scrape off food scraps instead of rinsing dishes under running water. Ensure proper loading for efficient water flow.

  5. Try to avoid prolonged contact of the liner and inner door with powerful bleaching powder, household chemicals, and soap.
  6. Try to prevent sharp and hard articles such as knives, forks, and cookware from hitting the liner and the inner door. Push the dish rack into the cavity till it is in place, to avoid scratching, scuffing, or denting the surface.
  7. Do not put low-carbon steel or cast-iron cookware in the liner for a long time, and do not leave stainless steel scrubber, rubber cleaning sheets, wet cleaning sponges, or other cleaning pads in the liner to avoid "floating rust" or "mildew spots" over time.
  8. If any surface rust or mildew spots are found on the liner, apply toothpaste to the rust and spots, and then clean them with a rag. But do not clean the liner with steel wool, polishing sheets, or polishing materials.
  9. When scale forms in the liner due to lack of softener salt, promptly add softener salt and put a dishwasher tablet or a small amount of sodium citrate in the dishwasher liner. Run any complete cycle and then run the Quick Cycle.
