Frequently Asked Questions - S3 Rexing

How do I install the Rexing S3 dash cam?
Clean the windshield, attach the mount, connect the power cable to the car's 12V port, and route the cable along the headliner. The camera will start recording automatically when power is supplied.
What type of SD card should I use?
Use a MicroSD card with class 10 or UHS-I rating, up to 256GB. Format the card in the camera before first use.
How do I enable parking mode?
Parking mode requires a hardwire kit (sold separately). Connect the kit to the car's fuse box, then enable parking mode in the camera's settings. The camera will record when motion or impact is detected while the car is off.
Can I view footage on my phone?
The Rexing S3 does not have built-in Wi-Fi. To view footage, remove the SD card and insert it into a computer or use an SD card reader with your phone.
How do I format the SD card?
Go to Settings > Format and confirm. It is recommended to format the card every few weeks to maintain performance.
What is the best resolution setting?
For most users, 1080p at 30fps offers a good balance between clarity and file size. Higher resolutions may require faster SD cards.
How do I adjust the G-sensor sensitivity?
Navigate to Settings > G-Sensor and choose from Low, Medium, or High sensitivity. Higher sensitivity will lock files more easily.
Does the camera have audio recording?
Yes, the camera has a built-in microphone. Audio recording can be turned on or off in the settings menu.
How do I update the firmware?
Download the latest firmware from the Rexing website, copy it to a formatted SD card, insert into the camera, and power on. Follow on-screen instructions.
Why does the camera stop recording unexpectedly?
Common causes: the SD card is full or slow, the power cable is loose, or the camera is overheating. Try a high-speed SD card and ensure proper ventilation.

Parking Monitor (Parking Surveillance Mode)

Parking monitor provides surveillance on your parked vehicle. When the engine is off, the hardwire kit is used to provide continuous power and protect your car battery from being discharged.

Option 1: Vibration Detection

To enable the Parking Monitor, you'll need to connect it with the Smart Hardwire Kit (ASIN B07RN24B7V, sold separately).

Battery ACC Ground

This feature will allow the dash cam to switch to parking mode automatically if the vehicle's engine turns off and switch back to the normal recording after the vehicle's engine turns on.

Please go to https://www.rexingusa.com/support/videos/ to watch a video tutorial about the installation.

Parking Monitor Off Gravity Sensing Time Lapse

There are 2 options under parking mode:

We recommend using the Time Lapse option.

• Time Lapse Record:

Record video in one frame per second to conserve memory and reduce the time it takes to review video.

• Gravity Sensing Record:

The Gravity Sensing detects significant or sudden movement (such as an impact or collision), it will trigger an event recording. We suggest setting the “Gravity Sensing” to High sensitivity for Parking Mode Recording.

Note:

If you do not use the parking mode function, please change the Gravity Sensing sensitivity to low. Otherwise, the video will easily be locked and the video cannot be deleted by the loop recording function. This will cause the memory card to be full of locked videos and cause the recorder to fail to work normally.

Option 2: Motion Detection

To use this feature, you need to connect it with an Intelligent Hardwire Kit (ASIN B0973MBCT8, sold separately). Make sure that the Parking Mode is turned off on your dash cam.

Once the sensor has detected MOTIONS. The intelligent hardwire kit will powerup the dash cam automatically and start recording until the MOTION is cleared.
