To install the battery(AA/R6)

1 Open the cover of the battery case and insert the battery

2 To join the battery case with the set, insert everything correctly in the inlet and turn a screw tightly.

▶ You can't listen the surround sound whilst listening to the FM mono broadcast or mono cassette.

To insert the tape

Slide OPEN switch to the direction of the arrow to open the cassette door.

① You can't opening the cassette door during playbook or recording.

② Keep all the functions to stop before opening the cassette door.

③Press the STOP button before opening the cassette door and open the cassette door to remove the tape.

HOLD switch

The HOLD function locks the set and the remote control separately to prevent them from operating when you accidentally press a button. Unlock it before operating. To lock

Cassette Operation

Repeat play

1 When pressing the RECALL button on the remote control once during playback, the tape is rewound to a point approximately 8 seconds before the point where the button was pressed and playback resumes automatically.

2 When pressing the RECALL button twice during playback, the tape is rewound to a point approximately 20 seconds.

3 When pressing the RECALL button for 2 seconds during playback, playing track is played repeatedly, until you press the OFF(■) button.

The repeat section is different to a winding quantity of the tape.

Radio Operation

To preset the station

- If there is "TUN" indicator on the display, clear it by pressing the MENU button.

1 Tune to a desired station

2 Press the MEMORY button once.

3 While the "W" indicator is sinking, select the memory channel number by using the FF or REW button.

4 Press the MEMORY button within 5 seconds.

5 Continue to enter any FM stations until up to 15 stations are entered into preset memory.

6 To tune to a preset station.

when the radio is on, press the FF or REW button on until your desired memory channel number is shown on the display.

Radio Operation

1 Tune to a desired preset station. 2 Press the EQ(PRESET DELETE) button more than 5 seconds.

SLEEP Function

This function shuts the set off automatically after the selected time has elapsed.

WAKE Function

This function turns the set on automatically after the selected time has elapsed (FM only).

1 Press the MENU button twice at the stop mode. The "LIKE" indicator will flash in the display.

2 Press the FF or REW button to set the hour. (You can select to maximum 12 hours)

3 Press the MEMORY button again to set the minutes.

(You can select to maximum 50 minutes with 10 minutes step)

5 Press the MEMORY button to complete the time set.

To cancel the wake function

Select the "LOOD" indicator when set a time. Once and give the power/cover on the set

To review the wake time

▶ Press the MENU button twice at the stop mode. The wake time elapsed will be shown in the display.

ASAP(Auto search and play)

▶ Each time the FF(ASAP-) or REW(ASAP-) button is pressed during playback, the next or previous track is selected and played. (You can repeatedly and continually press the button maximum 15 times)

▶ Press the FF(ASAP+) or REW(ASAP-) button during auto search, to reduce or append the selected track number.

▶ Each time it passed the mute section, the ASAP number on the display is reduced automatically during auto search.

- The ASAP function may not operate properly in the following situation.

Mute section skip function

① During playback if the mute section (about 15 seconds) is found it will pass through the mute section at high speed to the next playback point.

After finishing playback of the first side, it will pass through the mute section at high speed to the first playback point of the reverse side

This function works only in the “(二)” position of the MODE switch.

Recording Operation

1 Insert a blank cassette.

2-A Tune to the station which you wish to record from.

2-B. Plug the microphone into the MIC jack.

3 Press the REC(100 ● ●) button on the set twice for 1 sec to begin recording.

4 Press the ■ OFF button to finish recording.

  1. Recording levels have been preset at the factory under optimum conditions and cannot be changed.

  2. You can record on one side at a time only.

  3. If the tape is wound up during record, stop playback and you will hear the Beep(pi-)

Maintenance

Cleaning the head

▶ Wipe the head, pinch-rollers and the capstans with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol after every 50 hours of use.

▶ Do not insert a cassette tape before the alcohol has dried completely.
