IN-DASH STEREO INSTALLATION KIT FOR 2005-UP SUBARU LEGACY/OUTBACK (NON-SPORT MODEL)

INTRODUCTION / PRELIMINARY
This premium installation kit is for 2005-Up Subaru Legacy/Outback vehicles. Included are all the parts you need to mount your car stereo or CD player into your vehicle's dash. Refer to the individual instruction in this manual to remove your vehicle's factory radio and assemble the kit.
CAUTION
DISCONNECT YOUR VEHICLE'S NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE THE INSTALLATION TO HELP PREVENT ELECTRICAL DAMAGE. WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF A VOLT/OHM METER OVER A TEST LIGHT TO CHECK WIRING. A TEST LIGHT OR GROUNDED WIRE PROBE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS. AVOID ALL FACTORY AIRBAG WIRING - AIRBAGS CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

FACTORY STEREO REMOVAL
2005-UP SUBARU LEGACY/OUTBACK
- Using a panel removal tool, pry off the entire panel that surrounds the shifter.
- Remove the (1) Phillips head screw from each side panel, and remove the side panels.
- Unclip the A/C control cable from behind the pocket above the stereo. This can be accessed from under the dash, to the right of the steering column.
- Remove the (6) Phillips head screws securing the stereo to the dash. Save these screws, they will be used to install the new kit panel.
- Unplug connectors and remove the factory stereo.
- Unplug the emergency switch and remove the (2) screws securing it to the stereo. Save these screws, they will be used to install the new kit panel.
- Remove the (4) screws securing the A/C controls to the factory side brackets, and remove the A/C controls. Save these brackets and screws, they will be used to install the new kit panel.
- Unscrew and remove the factory side brackets from the factory radio. Save these brackets and screws, they will be used to install the new kit panel.
MOUNTING THE STEREO
DIN ISO MOUNT
- Re-attach the factory side brackets to the A/C controls using the original screws.
- Slide the new stereo between the factory brackets and attach using the screws supplied with the stereo, (2) per side.
- Plug in connectors, then position and align the stereo and A/C controls, with the brackets attached, into the dash opening (Do not attach with screws yet).
- Attach the 6552 pocket to the 6563 stereo mounting panel, using the screws provided with the kit.
- Attach the emergency switch to the 6563 panel using the original screws.
- Snap the 6563 panel with 6552 pocket attached, over the stereo and A/C controls. Make sure the AC controls snap correctly to the panel.
- Secure the panel assembly to the dash using the (6) original Phillips head screws.
- Re-attach the A/C control cable.
- Snap on the side panels and re-attach with the original screws.
- Snap in the panel that surrounds the shifter.
FACTORY BRACKET

DOUBLE DIN ISO MOUNT
- Re-attach the factory side brackets to the A/C controls using the original screws.
- Slide the new stereo between the factory brackets and attach using the original screws, (4) per side.
- Plug in connectors, then position and align the stereo and A/C controls, with the brackets attached, into the dash opening (do not attach with screws yet).
- Attach the emergency switch to the 6563 panel using the original screws.
- Snap the 6563 panel over the stereo and A/C controls. Make sure the AC controls snap correctly to the panel.
- Secure the panel assembly to the dash using the (6) original Phillips head screws.
- Re-attach the A/C control cable.
- Snap on the side panels and re-attach with the original screws.
- Snap in the panel that surrounds the shifter.

NOTE: REAR SUPPORTING THE STEREO ADDS TO THE INSTALLATION'S STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. REAR SUPPORT AVAILABLE SEPARATELY.
