Frequently Asked Questions - X605 OPTOMA

How to replace the lamp of the OPTOMA X605 projector?
Turn off the projector, unplug it and wait at least 30 minutes for it to cool down. Unlock the lamp cover, remove the module screws, then take out the old lamp. Insert the new lamp without touching the glass surface, screw it back and close the cover. Then reset the lamp counter via the menu Options > Lamp Settings > Lamp Reset.
The projector does not turn on, what should I do?
Check that the power cord is properly plugged in and the main switch is on. Make sure the lens cap is removed. If the power LED blinks red, consult the manual for error codes. If the lamp is at the end of its life, replace it before turning on again.
How to correct image distortion (keystone)?
Use the Keystone +/- buttons on the remote or control panel to adjust vertical distortion. You can also access the menu Display > Keystone V in the OSD for precise adjustment.
How to connect a computer to the projector?
Use a VGA cable to connect the computer output to the projector's VGA 1 or VGA 2 port. For digital signal, use an HDMI or DVI-D cable. Ensure the computer is set to the appropriate output mode (e.g., [Fn]+[F4] on some models).
How to activate 3D mode?
Make sure the 3D source is connected (e.g., HDMI 1.4). Press the 3D button on the remote to activate the 3D menu. In the menu Display > Three Dimensions, select the appropriate mode (DLP Link or VESA 3D) and format (SBS, top/bottom, etc.). Wear compatible 3D glasses.
What is the lamp life?
The lamp life depends on the mode used. In Eco mode, it can reach approximately 3000 hours, while in Brightness mode it is about 2000 hours. The projector displays a reminder when the lamp approaches the end of its life.
How to clean the projector lens?
Turn off and unplug the projector. Use a soft, clean cloth slightly dampened with optical cleaner. Wipe the lens in circular motions without pressing. Never use abrasive products or solvents.
The projector displays an error message, what does it mean?
The LAMP LED and TEMP LED indicate problems. If LAMP LED is solid red, the lamp is defective. If TEMP LED blinks red, the fan is faulty. In both cases, contact a qualified technician. Refer to the Projector status indication section in the manual for more details.
How to adjust the projected image position?
Use the lens shift knobs on top of the projector to move the image vertically and horizontally. Before adjusting, loosen the locking screw, then adjust and tighten. For precise adjustment, refer to the shift range diagram in the manual.
Can I use the projector for ceiling installation?
Yes, the projector supports ceiling installation. Use a UL-certified mounting kit with M4 screws (length 9-11 mm). In the Menu > Projection, select Front Ceiling or Rear Ceiling according to your setup. Ensure at least 10 cm distance between projector and ceiling for ventilation.
