USER MANUAL SF-C22K SANYO
Please check the following points when you found the chest freezer is not working properly.
| The inside is not cool at all | Check if the power lamp is not on• The Power Plug is unplugged from the socket.• A power failure has happened.• A domestic fuse or a breaker has been out. |
| The inside is not cool enough | Has the installation properly done?Is the Temperature control in the proper position?Isn't the chest freezer in the direct sunlight?Don't you frequently open-close the foam door?Haven't you stored too much stock at one time? |
| Loud noise is heard | Is the floor firm enough? Is the chest freezer rattling? Is there enough space between chest freezer and the wall?Isn't there a container or something dropped behind the chest freezer? |
| There is condensation on outer of the chest freezer | There is a possibility to build up condensation on the body, the door or on the packing, when humidity is quite high.It is the same situation as condensation on a glass with cold water. There is no problem. |
| Sound like water streaming | It is not a trouble. It is the sound of refrigerant (liquid for cooling the freezer). |
| Outer of the chest freezer is hot | It may become hot especially in summer or the beginning of the operationIt is because pipes are equipped to prevent the interior from condensation and release the heat.It does not affect the food inside |
* Check these points above firstly and if you still have any trouble. Please contact a dealer.
The following conditions are not considered as troubles of the unit:
- The refrigerating system runs for a long time when the freezer is used for the first time or more articles are put into it.
- Sound of running water. This is merely the sound of running refrigerants.
- Condensation is normal when ambient humidity is high. Drops of water appear on the exterior wall of the cabinet.
To freeze is the basic work condition for the freezer. In such conditions, the knob of the thermostat should be placed to the freezing range of "1" \~ "7" (usually set at "5"). Position "1" is in "weak cold" work condition and position "7" is in "strong cold" work condition. If fast

freezing is needed for articles, the knob of the thermostat should be set to the position "7" after the articles are put into the freezer. Turn it to its original position when the articles are frozen. Do not fast-freeze for more than 4\~5 hours or it is not good for the refrigerating system.
Work condition:
A green light and red light are installed on the temperature control panel. The red light is power indicator which lights up when power is on. The green light is on when the compressor is running, or off when compressor is not running. This makes it convenient to determine if there is power or not and if the refrigerating system is working or not.
Reminders During Use
- Do not put flammable or explosive articles, and corrosive or volatile organic solvents into the freezer So as to prevent accidents and to protect freezer cabinet from corrosion.

Never put in flammable or explosive articles, and corrosive or volatile organic solvents.
-
Temperature of the freezer should not be too high. Articles may be wrapped in a plastic. Its weight is <2kg, and piled with a 15-10mm clearance among them in order to keep convection of the air inside the cabinet and maintain excellent freezing effect.
-
Avoid putting beverage cans and containers in the freezer to prevent breakage.
-
To reduce power consumption, avoid keeping door open for a long time.
-
If the frost on the interior walls is more than 5mm, defrosting should be done.

▶ Method of defrosting
1) Unplug the unit. Take out all contents of the freezer. After the freezer temperature rises, frost will melt or scale off. 2) To speed up defrosting, place a pan of hot water into the unit and close the door. After defrosting, drain the water and then use a soft cloth to dry the interior walls. Plug unit and resume operation.
Note: Never use Sharp utensils to scrape off frosting layers.
In normal using conditions, power interruption should be avoided. Should power be interrupted accidentally, do not put power on for five minutes to avoid damages to compressor.
▶ Care & cleaning
It is suggested that the freezer be cleaned periodically; generally clean it every 30\~45 days. Unplug before cleaning, and use soft cloth with neutral soap water or mid detergent to scrub inside and outside of the cabinet. Do not use acids, chemical thinner, gasoline or benzene for cleaning any parts of the chest freezer. Dry it with a soft cloth. Never use water to rinse the freezer.

The chest freezer should be placed on a flat and level surface. Leveling can be obtained by adjusting screws on the bottom of the unit
Proper air circulation
A space of approx 10cm is recommended between the back of the freezer and the wall. Also there should be minimum 100 cm.
free space above the top. These points are necessary for good air circulation and door opening.
Avoid heat source
Do not place the freezer in direct sun light or close to source of heat such as a gas range or an electric cooker.
Avoid moisture and rain
Do not place the freezer close to the sink or wash bowl as these areas have high humidity and may cause condensation on the freezer. Also avoid the rain.
Correct electricity voltage
Make sure that the input voltage is the rated voltage which is specified in the wiring diagram to prevent possible overloading of your domestic power circuits.
To prevent voltage drop in the power going to the chest freezer, plug straight into a wall socket. Do not use any electrical appliance from the same wall socket.
General Information
The refrigerating system for this freezer is mainly composed of fully-closed refrigerating compressor and interior evaporator, properly processed with a good cooling result, it is convenient for use, quiet and saves an electricity.
The hard polyaminoester foam(made from spot high-pressured foaming)is used for the thermal insulation which results in good performance and durability.
The interior door case is non-poisonous and odorless, and formed by easy-to -clean ABS plastic. It is made of a specially treated as: a. embossed aluminium sheet, b. White coating aluminium sheet. It results in a generally good; clean-looking; and durable unit.
The cabinet and door are made of cold-rolled sheets which have been bonderized and electrostatic-painted, is consistent in thickness, corrosion-resistant, flexible and scratch-resistant.

- Be sure not to splash or pour water. It may cause risk of short circuit or electric shock.
- When chest freezer operates abnormally (burning smell etc), pull out the power plug to disconnect the power and stop the operation. If it keeps operating under the abnormal condition, it can result in electric shock or catching fire.
- Never dismantle, repair or remodel. It may cause a risk of accidental fire or a malfunction and result in personal injury.
- Detach the door gasket from the body to prevent children from closing themselves inside the chest freezer. It avoids an accidental enclosure, in case chest freezer is kept until it is collected for recycling.
Caution
- Never store bottles or cans. The substance freezes and the container can be broken; which cause personal injury.
- Never store flammable items. It may cause explosion. Never store . Benzine, LP Gas, Alcohol or Adhesives.
- Never store medicine or chemical material. Items that need strict supervision of temperature cannot be preserved in domestic chest freezer.
- Do not install the chest freezer in very humid place where it may get wet. It may cause leakage by weakening insulation.
- Do not touch food or (especially metallic) containers in the chest freezer by wet hand. It may risk you to get cold injury.

Warnings & Cautions for Safety
- Be sure to connect the power plug into proper AC 220-240V socket. This appliance is connecting to AC 220-240V. Improper socket may catch fire or cause an electric shock.
- Use an over 13A socket by itself. Using the same socket with other appliances may cause heat and catch fire.
- Wipe off dust and be sure to plug the power plug until the joints into a proper socket-outlet. Dust or loose plugging may cause heat and results in catch fire.
- Never damage the power cord or use a damaged cord. It may catch fire or cause an electric shock if you stomp on, process, pull, twist or bend the power cord.
- Do not press chest freezer upon the power plug. Making the power plug transform or scratch may result in causing heat and catch fire.
- Be sure to disconnect the power plug when cleaning or changing a lightbulb inside. It may cause a risk of electric shock if you change it with the power plug on. Never connect or disconnect the power plug with wet hand; it may cause an electric shock.
- Be sure to disconnect the Power Plug in case not using chest freezer for a long time. It prevents electric shock, leakage or fire which are caused by weakening insulation.
