Frequently Asked Questions - 1917/76 MC Elba

How do I install the Elba 1917/76 MC range hood?
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician. Ensure the hood is mounted at least 65 cm above gas hobs or 50 cm above electric hobs. Secure the hood to the wall using the provided mounting kit and connect to the duct or set for recirculation. Follow the detailed instructions in the user manual.
How often should I clean the grease filter?
The aluminum grease filter should be cleaned every month under normal use. You can wash it by hand with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
How do I replace the carbon filter?
If your hood is used in recirculation mode, replace the carbon filter every 3-4 months. To replace, remove the grease filter, then unclip the old carbon filter and snap the new one into place. Always use original Elba filters.
Why is my range hood making excessive noise?
Check if the grease filter is clogged or if the duct is blocked. Also ensure the hood is properly mounted and not vibrating against cabinets. If noise persists, contact customer support.
How do I change the light bulb in the hood?
Turn off the power. Remove the grease filter to access the light housing. Gently push and twist the bulb (typically a 40W halogen or LED equivalent) to release it, then insert a new bulb of the same type. Do not touch halogen bulbs with bare fingers.
Can I use the hood without ducting?
Yes, the Elba 1917/76 MC can be used in recirculation mode. You will need to install a carbon filter (sold separately) to absorb odors. The air will be filtered and returned to the kitchen.
What size duct does the hood require?
The duct connector is designed for 150 mm diameter ducts. Use rigid or flexible ducting of the same diameter for optimal airflow.
The hood doesn't start. What should I check?
First, check if the power cord is plugged in and the fuse/circuit breaker is intact. Ensure the hood is not in a safety lockout mode. If the problem persists, contact a qualified technician.
How do I reset the filter saturation alarm?
Typically, after cleaning or replacing filters, press and hold the timer button for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light turns off. Refer to the manual for exact procedure.
Where can I find spare parts for this model?
Original spare parts such as grease filters, carbon filters, and bulbs are available from Elba authorized dealers or online stores. Always use genuine parts to maintain performance and safety.
