The AXIS A4010-E supports OSDP and RS485 communication protocols for connection with network door controllers.

What is the operating temperature range of the reader?

The reader operates from -30°C to 70°C. For temperatures below -30°C, a heating pad is required.

Can the reader be used outdoors?

Yes, it is intended for outdoor use with an IP54 rating. A protective shield is recommended to protect against weather effects.

How do I connect the reader to an AXIS A1001 door controller?

Connect the RS485 wires A to B and B to A between the reader and the door controller. Refer to the hardware pin chart for detailed connections.

Is there a tamper alarm?

How do I clean the reader?

What is the maximum cable length for RS485?

The recommended maximum cable length is 30 m (98.4 ft). Use twisted pair for longer distances.

Does the reader require calibration?

Yes, the tamper alarm accelerometer is calibrated at power-on. Mount the reader first, then connect the cable.
