How do I set up the Digi Connect WAN router for the first time?

Insert a compatible SIM card, connect the antenna, and power up the router. Connect your computer to the Ethernet port or join the default Wi-Fi network (SSID 'Digi-XXXX'). Open a web browser and go to 192.168.2.1. Login with default credentials (admin / admin). Follow the setup wizard to configure your APN and other settings.

How can I reset the router to factory defaults?

Locate the reset button on the device. Use a paperclip to press and hold the button for 10 seconds while the device is powered on. Release when the LEDs flash. The router will reboot with factory settings.

What is the default IP address and login?

The default IP address is 192.168.2.1. Default username and password are both 'admin'. It is recommended to change the password after initial setup.

How do I configure a VPN on the Digi Connect WAN?

Log into the web interface. Go to VPN > IPsec or OpenVPN. Click 'Add' and enter the required parameters (remote server, authentication, etc.). Save and apply the configuration. Ensure that the router's firewall rules allow VPN traffic.

Why is my cellular connection not working?

Check that the SIM card is correctly inserted and activated with a data plan. Verify antenna connections. In the web interface, go to Status > Cellular to check signal strength and registration. Ensure the APN is correctly configured. If using private APN, contact your carrier.

Can I use the router with any cellular carrier?

How do I update the firmware?

What is the maximum number of concurrent VPN tunnels?

The device supports up to 10 simultaneous IPsec tunnels and 5 OpenVPN tunnels depending on the firmware version and resource usage.

How can I extend Wi-Fi range?

Position the router centrally and away from obstructions. You can connect an external Wi-Fi antenna (if available) or use the router in repeater mode. Alternatively, use a separate access point connected via Ethernet.

Does the router support PoE?

The standard Digi Connect WAN does not support Power over Ethernet. It requires a DC power supply (9–30 V). Some models may support PoE via an optional adapter; check the product variant.

2 Insert SIM card

Orient SIM card with metal side up and short corner to the inside. Use caution to insure card is properly seated in SIM slot.

4 Configure your cellular settings

Open your web browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the URL address bar.

From the web interface, under Configuration, click "Mobile." Enter your service provider name and connection parameters and click "Apply."

NOTE: The Digi Connect WAN has DHCP server enabled by default. In order to discover your Digi device, make sure your host computer is set up to obtain IP addresses automatically. Also ensure all firewall software is temporarily disabled.

5 Verify

Your device has been properly provisioned and is active if the PPP section shows (connected).

Remove the Ethernet cable and plug it back into the PC to update the DNS.

Open a web browser and enter a web site of your choice in the URL address bar of your browser and hit "enter" (e.g. www.digi.com).
