Frequently Asked Questions - LHG-21012 Malmbergs

How do I start the pressure washer?
Ensure the power cord is plugged into a grounded outlet. Connect the high-pressure hose and water supply. Turn the water tap on fully, then press the power switch to the ON position. Squeeze the trigger to start water flow.
Can I use hot water with this pressure washer?
No, this model is designed for cold water only. Using hot water can damage the pump and seals.
What type of detergent can I use?
Use only specially formulated pressure washer detergents. Do not use bleach, acidic, or flammable chemicals. The unit has a built-in detergent tank for easy application.
How do I clean the nozzle?
If the nozzle is clogged, disconnect the spray lance. Use a small needle or paper clip to dislodge debris from the nozzle opening. Rinse with water before reattaching.
What should I do if the pressure washer stops suddenly?
Check the circuit breaker or fuse. The unit may have thermal overload protection; let it cool for 15-20 minutes before restarting. Also ensure the water supply is adequate.
How do I store the pressure washer in winter?
Drain all water from the pump, hose, and accessories. Run the pump for a few seconds without water to expel residual moisture. Store in a frost-free area. Consider using pump antifreeze.
Why is the pressure low?
Common causes: clogged nozzle, dirty water filter, kinked hose, or insufficient water supply. Check each component and clean as needed. Also, the nozzle may be in low-pressure mode.
Can I use an extension cord?
Yes, but use a heavy-duty outdoor extension cord rated for at least 13 amps. Keep the cord length under 25 meters to avoid voltage drop.
How often should I change the oil?
This model has an oil-free pump (wobble plate type), so no oil change is required. Simply maintain the water filter and nozzles.
Is it safe to use on car paint?
Yes, but keep a distance of at least 30 cm and use a wide spray pattern or the low-pressure detergent nozzle. Avoid direct concentrated spray to prevent paint damage.

VIANETSINTÄ

Warning: DO NOT use this high-pressure cleaning machine before having read this operating manual and safety instructions.

Before you operate the washer be sure to read the operating manual • carefully and observe the safety instructions.

The warnings or indications pasted on the washer provide important • guidance for safe operation.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. The pressure washer must not be used by children or untrained personnel.
  2. Attention: When activating the machine the high pressure of the water coming out of the lance may cause kick back. Therefore when activating the machine, ensure that you grip the lance firmly.
  3. When using the pressure washer, ensure that other people are at least 10 metres away from the working area.
  4. High-pressure jets can be dangerous if misused. The jet must not be directed at other people, animals, live electrical equipment or the pressure washer itself.
  5. Do not point the jet towards yourself or other people.
  6. If an extension cord is used, it must be of watertight construction. Note: Always use an extension cord with earth.
  7. Do not use the pressure washer if the supply cord or other important parts are damaged (e.g. safety devices, high pressure hoses or the lance).
  8. Keep the high-pressure hose connected to the pressure washer as long as the pressure washer is under pressure. Disconnecting the high-pressure hose while the system is under pressure is dangerous.
  9. Do not use corrosive or flammable liquids in the machine.
  10. Do not step on, press or draw with force the connecting cable so as to avoid their damage.
  11. Keep the electric wire away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
  12. The high pressure water hose must be in a perfect condition (otherwise it may have the danger of explosion).
  13. Damaged high pressure water hose must be replaced immediately.

  14. Only the water hose and the connection recommended by the manufacturer may be used.

  15. Shut off the motor and place the washer well for handling.
  16. It is highly recommended that this product is used with an earth leakage protective device.
  17. Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate. Preferably connect the machine to an electric socket with an earth leakage protective switch of max. 30mA.
  18. Your pressure washer has been designed for outdoor use only for the cleaning of stone, wood, metal and plastic materials. It is your responsibility to check the suitability of the surface to be cleaned. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage caused.

ASSEMBLING THE LANCE

Connect the nozzle and the lance (6 & 7) by pushing the bayonet on the nozzle (6) into the socket of the lance (7) and assemble into position (rotating clockwise until it locks in place). The assembly must be carried out prior to using the pressure washer. Ensure that both parts are firmly connected together otherwise the nozzle could fly off the lance.

Always remove or replace parts while the pressure washer is switched off.

CONNECTING THE WATER OUTLET

Labeled diagram of a water heater with numbered parts for identification

Screw the high-pressure hose (5) onto the high-pressure water outlet (4). Ensure that the connector is firmly fastened (but do not overtighten). The minimum length of supply hose (not included) advised for maximum user convenience is 5 metres with a diameter of 12.5 mm (1/2") to avoid back pressure and any associated potential damage to your pressure washer.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. Fully open the water mains tap – do not at this point switch on your pressure washer. Never operate your pressure washer without the water supply switched on.
  2. Do not lock the pistol during the operation.
  3. Hold the trigger of the pistol grip (6) until all the air has been expelled

from the pressure washer and the water starts to flow. As soon as the water starts flowing out of the nozzle, release the trigger. You have now primed your pressure washer with water.

  1. The pressure washer can now be switched on.

  2. Never try to open the washer cover during the operation.

Switching On and Off

0 1

Ensure that the mains switch is in the operational position.

To switch the pressure washer on, turn the on/off switch to "1".

To switch the pressure washer off, turn the on/off switch to "0".

In the event of a break in use longer than 2 minutes, ensure that you switch off the power of the pressure washer, in order to avoid damage.

Operating Your Pressure Washer

Technical diagram showing three mechanical components with labeled parts and directional arrows indicating motion or assembly.

Your spray lance has two main settings. These setting can be varied by turning the nozzle attachment (6) at the end of the lance.

Turn the nozzle (6) anti-clockwise for a pointed jet or turn the nozzle (6) clockwise for a flat jet.

Always ensure that the trigger is closed and the pressure washer switched off before changing the nozzle settings.

When using your pressure washer on high – pressure settings, the recommended working distance between the nozzle and the object or surface to be cleaned is 30 cm. It can be closer if required for patios or masonry.

Aim the lance towards the object to be cleaned making sure the recommended working distance is used for reference. Squeeze the lance trigger until the water starts flowing, then switch on the pressure washer.

Important

Remember frost will damage your pressure washer if it has not been completely emptied of water after use. Always store in a frost free area.

Note: Frost damage is not covered by the warranty.

CONNECTING HIGH PRESSURE HOSE TO THE GUN

  1. Open the lock at the back of the water gun (see fig. 1).
  2. Insert the high pressure hose into the hole of the gun (see fig. 2).
  3. Lock the high pressure hose (see fig. 3).

  4. Revolve the hose protector clockwise in a circle, making sure the outer protector fasten to the gun.
