How do I switch between tablet and laptop mode?

The Inspiron 15 7579 has a 360-degree hinge. Simply rotate the screen all the way around to convert from laptop to tablet mode. Windows will automatically adjust the interface.Use the rotation lock in the Action Center to disable auto-rotation if needed.

Can I use a stylus with this device?

Yes, the touchscreen supports an active pen (e.g., Dell Active Pen). It works for drawing, note-taking, and precise input. The pen is sold separately.

How long does the battery last?

Under typical usage (web browsing, video playback), the 42 Whr battery lasts about 6 to 8 hours. Heavy tasks like gaming or video editing will reduce battery life.

Can I upgrade the RAM or SSD?

The RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded. The SSD is a M.2 SATA drive and can be replaced by removing the back cover. Refer to the service manual for instructions.

How do I clean the touchscreen?

Turn off the device and unplug it. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a 50/50 water and isopropyl alcohol mix. Do not spray directly on the screen; apply to the cloth first.

What ports are available?

The device includes two USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI output, a headphone/microphone combo jack, and an SD card reader. There is no USB-C port.

Does it have a built-in keyboard?

Yes, the keyboard is attached even in tablet mode (it folds behind the screen when using as a tablet). Keys are backlit and contoured for comfortable typing.

How can I perform a factory reset?

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and select 'Reset this PC'. Choose 'Remove everything' for a full reset. Back up important data first as this will erase all files.

Is the device compatible with Dell Docking Station?

Yes, it is compatible with Dell Docking Stations that use USB-A or USB-C connection (if adapter is used). However, it does not have a dedicated docking connector. Use a USB 3.0 docking station for best performance.

How do I replace the battery?
