Frequently Asked Questions - CT18950 Lasko

How do I set the timer on my Lasko CT18950?
Press the Timer button repeatedly to cycle through 1 to 12 hours. The display will show the selected time. Once set, the heater will automatically turn off after that duration.
Can I leave the heater unattended while it's on?
The CT18950 is equipped with tip-over and overheat protection, making it safe to leave on. However, we recommend keeping it on a stable, level surface and not covering it.
How do I clean the filter?
Unplug the heater. Remove the filter cover (usually at the back). Take out the filter and rinse under running water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. Clean every two weeks for optimal performance.
Why does my heater keep turning off?
This is likely due to the overheat protection feature. Ensure the heater is not blocked, the filter is clean, and it's on a hard, level surface. If the room is already warm, the thermostat may also cycle the heater off.
Does the heater have a fan-only mode?
Yes, the CT18950 includes a fan-only setting that circulates air without heat, useful for summer months.
What is the coverage area?
This heater is suitable for up to 300 square feet (about 28 m²) when used as a supplemental heat source.
How do I use the remote control?
The remote allows you to power on/off, adjust temperature, set timer, and toggle oscillation from a distance. Ensure batteries (AAA, not included) are inserted.
Can I use an extension cord?
It's best to plug the heater directly into a 120V wall outlet. If necessary, use a heavy-duty extension cord rated for at least 1500 watts.
How do I reset the heater after a safety shutdown?
Unplug the heater, wait 10-15 minutes for it to cool down, then plug it back in and press the power button. If it still doesn't work, check the filter and placement.
Is the heater noisy?
No, the CT18950 operates quietly at around 45 dB, similar to a quiet conversation. The fan may produce a low hum, but it's not disruptive.
