Frequently Asked Questions - WX502MK2 Audac

What are the available power tap settings for the WX502MK2?
The WX502MK2 has three selectable power taps for 100V systems: 40W, 20W, and 10W. It also supports low-impedance operation at 8Ω (50W RMS).
How do I change the power tap setting?
Rotate the AWX5™ waterproof connector on the rear of the speaker until the white dot on the cable part aligns with the desired power tap indicated on the sticker. Then screw the outer ring to secure and maintain waterproofing.
Can the WX502MK2 be used with 70V or 50V systems?
Yes, when connected to 70.7V systems the power is reduced by half, and to 50V systems by a quarter. For example, the 40W tap becomes 20W at 70V and 10W at 50V.
Is the speaker suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, it is designed with an IP55 rating, ABS housing, powder coating, and a drain hole. The aluminum bracket and grill pass a 720-hour salt spray test for corrosion resistance.
What is the maximum SPL of the WX502MK2?
At 8Ω, the maximum SPL is 104 dB at 1m. At 100V, it is 102 dB at 1m.
How should I mount the speaker?
Use the included powder-coated aluminum bracket. Attach the bracket securely to the wall with appropriate screws (two required). Then fix the speaker to the bracket using the thumbscrews. A safety wire is recommended for overhead mounting.
What kind of cable should I use to connect the speaker?
Use cables of appropriate gauge for the distance and power. Maintain correct polarity throughout the system using clear color coding.
Does the speaker have built-in protection?
Yes, it features an integrated advanced protection network that prevents overload damage to the tweeter.
What is the frequency response of this speaker?
The frequency response is 90 Hz – 18 kHz (±3 dB) and extends from 70 Hz – 20 kHz at -10 dB.
Can the speaker be painted?
The speaker is available in black or white. Painting is not recommended as it may affect the acoustic properties and weather resistance. Use the original finish for best performance.

USER MANUAL WX502MK2 Audac

Universal wall speaker

The WXMK2/0 are powerful 2-way performance speakers, which are especially designed for outdoor use, ensuring true-to-nature, high fidelity reproduction of music and speech in every environment, ranging from modern residential applications to the most demanding outdoor applications in parks, stadiums, hotels and even clubs.

It features a stunningly designed and elegant looking ABS housing which is fitted with high quality components. The speaker is available in three sizes, 3", 5 1/4" and 8", and can be used in standard ow impedance systems as well as 100V PA installations. A special treatment with powder coating provides the necessary protection for all weather conditions. Because of this, the powder coated aluminum bracket and grill can pass the 720 hours salt-spray test. A drain hole behind the aluminum grill allows water to flow out and the rotatable 5 pole waterproof connector with power tap selection makes sure that the speaker meets the IP55 standard. The included mounting bracket allows horizontal and vertical mounting as well as focusing of the speaker, and an integrated advanced protection network protects the tweeter against overload.

This can be done by loosening the thumbscrews on either side of the loudspeaker. After this is done, the mounting holes should be indicated.

For a stable mounting of the loudspeaker it should always be fastened by two screws. The position of the mounting holes depends on the mounting orientation, horizontally or vertically. After this, the bracket can be mounted on the desired location. Always use the proper fasteners depending of the mounting surface. Once the bracket is mounted on the desired location, the loudspeaker can be fixed to the bracket.
