1.1. Power Supply

Make sure the main voltage is compatible with the appliance's. If this is not the case please consult the Customer Support Service.

1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables

Do not tangle the cord or pull it to disconnect the appliance. Also, keep the cord away from warm surfaces.

Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket.

Take it to the Technical Support Service for replacement.

1.3. Humidity and Water

Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance to become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous. To avoid fire hazard or electric shock do not expose your appliance to humidity or water. Furthermore, do not place your appliance under water (e.g. for cleaning).

Before cleaning, be sure to switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the main power supply. Always allow the unit to cool down before cleaning.

2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

2.1. Product Description

Overview

Cleaning the interior

Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, and then dry it thoroughly.

Important!: Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish.

Electrical connection

Before plugging your appliance to the mains, please ensure that the voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate correspond to your domestic power supply. Since the appliance must be earthed, the power supply cable plug is provided with a contact for this purpose. If the domestic power supply socket is not earthed, connect the appliance to a separate earth in compliance with current regulations, consulting a qualified electrician.

The manufacturer declines all responsibility if the above safety precautions are not observed.

This appliance complies with the EEC Directives.

Reversing the door

Tool required: Philips screwdriver, Flat bladed screwdriver, Hexagonal spanner.

• Please ensure the unit is unplugged and empty.
• To take the door off, it is necessary to tilt the unit backwards. You should rest the unit on something solid so that it will not slip during the door reversing process.

• All parts removed must be saved to do the door's reinstallation.
• Do not lay the unit flat as this may damage the coolant system.
• It is advisable that 2 people handle the unit during assembly.

1) Unscrew and remove the hinge cover.

2) Unscrew and remove the hinge.

3) Unscrew the middle hinge. Then lift the lower door and place it on a soft pad to avoid any scratches.

4) Move the hinge hole covers from the left side to the right side.

5) Unscrew the bottom hinge. Then remove the adjustable feet from both sides.

6) Unscrew and remove the bottom hinge pin, turn the bracket over and replace it.

7) Refit the bracket fitting the bottom hinge pin. Replace both adjustable feet. Transfer the lower door to the proper position.

8) Make the middle hinge reverse 180^ , then transfer it to the left proper position. Place the middle hinge pin in the upper hole of the lower door and then tight the bolts.

9) Place the upper door back on. Ensure the door is horizontally and vertically aligned so that the seal closes on all sides before finally tightening the top hinge. Then place the hinge in position and screw it to the top of the unit.

10) Unscrew the hinge pin and reverse the hinge, then reinstall the hinge pin.

12) Fix the hinge on the left.

Rear spacer

Screw the rear spacers on the back of the unit.

Space Requirements

• Keep enough space to open the door.
• Keep at least 50 mm gap from both sides.

To do this you need to adjust the two levelling feet at the front of the unit.

If the unit is not levelled, the doors and magnetic seal alignments will not be covered properly.

Positioning

Install this appliance at a location where the ambient temperature corresponds to the climate class specified on the appliance's rating plate:

Location

appliance should be installed away from sources of heat such as radiators, boilers, direct sunlight, etc. Please ensure that air can circulate freely around the back of the appliance. To ensure best performance, if the appliance is positioned below an overhanging wall unit, the minimum distance between the top of the appliance and the wall unit must be at least 100 mm. Ideally, however, the appliance should not be positioned below overhanging wall units. Accurate levelling is ensured by one or more adjustable feet at the base of the appliance.

WARNING!: It should be possible to disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply, and so the plug must be easily accessible after installation.

Temperature Setting

- Plug your appliance to the mains.

The internal temperature is controlled by a thermostat. There are 7 settings, where as 1 is the warmest setting and 7 is the coldest setting.

- The appliance may not operate at the correct temperature if it is particularly hot or if you open the door often.

Freezing fresh food

- The freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for a long time.

- Place the fresh food to be frozen in the freezer compartment.

- The maximum amount of food that can be frozen in 24 hours is specified on the rating plate.

- The freezing process lasts 24 hours: during this period do not add other food to be frozen.

Storing frozen food

When first starting-up or after a period out of use, before putting the product in the compartment let the appliance run at least 2 hours on the higher settings.

Important!: In the event of accidental defrosting, for example the power has been off for longer than the value shown in the technical characteristics chart under “rising time”, the defrosted food must be quickly consumed or immediately cooked and then re-frozen (after being cooked).

Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to be used, can be thawed in the fridge compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation.

Small pieces may even be cooked while still frozen, directly from the freezer. In this case, the cooking process will take longer.

This appliance may be equipped with one or more ice-cube accessories to produce ice.

Movable shelves

The walls of the refrigerator are equipped with a series of runners so that the shelves can be positioned as desired.

Positioning the door balconies

To permit storage of food packages of various sizes, the door balconies can be placed at different heights. To make these adjustments proceed as follows: gradually pull the balcony in the direction of the arrows until it comes free, then reposition as required.

Before using the water dispenser for the first time, remove and clean the water tank located inside the refrigeration.

1) Lift and remove the tank balcony.

2) Remove the water tank. Detach the top cover and then wash and clean both the tank and the cover.

3) After cleaning, reposition the water tank, cover and tank balcony as below:

4) Clean the dispenser lever outside the refrigerator door.

Filling the water tank

1) Open the small lid at the top of the tank balcony.
2) Fill the water tank with drinkable water up to the 2L line.
3) Close the lid and ensure it is firmly shut.

Dispensing water

Push the dispenser lever gently with a glass or container. To stop the flow, pull the glass away from the lever.

Helpful hints and tips

To help you make the most of the freezing process, here are some important hints:

• The maximum quantity of food that can be frozen in 24 hrs. is shown on the rating plate;
• The freezing process takes 24 hours. No further food to be frozen should be added during this period;
• Only freeze top quality, fresh and thoroughly cleaned foodstuffs;
  • Prepare food in small portions so these can be rapidly and completely frozen and to allow to subsequently thaw only the quantity required;
• Wrap up the food in aluminium foil or polythene and make sure that the packages are airtight;
• Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food that is already frozen, thus avoiding a rise in temperature of the latter;

• Lean foods store better and longer than fatty ones; also remember that salt reduces food's storage life;
• Ice cubes, if consumed immediately after removing them from the freezer compartment, can possibly cause the skin to be freeze burnt;
• It is advisable to show the freezing date on each individual pack to enable a fast removal from the freezer compartment;
• It is advisable to show the freezing date on each individual pack to enable you to keep tab of the storage time.

Hints for storing frozen food

To obtain the best performance from this appliance, you should:

• Make sure that the commercially frozen foodstuffs were adequately stored by the retailer;
• Be sure that frozen foodstuffs are transferred from the food store to the freezer in the shortest possible time;
• Not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than strictly necessary.
• Not re-frost food; once defrosted, food deteriorates rapidly and cannot be re-frozen;
• Not exceed the storage period specified by the food manufacturer.

Hints for fresh food refrigeration

To obtain the best performance:

• Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator;
• Do cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour;

• Make/pre-prepared doughs (all types): wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelves above the vegetable drawer;
• For safety purposes, store like this only for one or two days at the most;
• Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc.: these should be covered and may be placed on any shelf;
• Fruit and vegetables: these should be thoroughly cleaned and placed in the special drawer(s) provided;
• Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or wrapped in aluminium foil or polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible;
• Milk bottle: these should have a cap and should be stored in the balconies on the door;
• Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not packed, must not be kept in the fridge.

2.3. Maintenance

Installation

Important!: For electrical connection, please carefully follow the instructions given in specific paragraphs.

• Unpack the appliance and check if there are any damages on it. Do not connect the appliance if it is damaged and report possible damages immediately to the place you bought it, retaining all packing materials;
• It is advisable to wait at least four hours before connecting the appliance to allow the oil to flow back in the compressor;

- Please allow proper air circulation around the appliance, otherwise there is a risk of overheating. To achieve sufficient ventilation, please follow the relevant instructions to installation;

- Wherever possible the spacers of the product should be against a wall to avoid touching or catching warm parts (compressor, condenser) to prevent possible burns;

- The appliance must not be located close to radiators or cookers;

- Please make sure that the power plug is accessible after installing the appliance.

Service

- Any electrical work required to repair or maintain the appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person;

- This product should be serviced by an authorized Service Centre, and only genuine spare parts should be used.

- Do not put hot food inside the appliance;

- Some accessories, such as drawers, can be removed to get larger storage volume and lower energy consumption.

Care and cleaning

• Before performing any maintenance to your appliance, switch it off and disconnect the power plug from the mains socket;
• Do not clean the appliance with metal objects;
• Use a plastic scrape ^2 to remove frost from the appliance, instead of using any sharp objects;
• Regularly examine the drain in the refrigerator for defrosted water. If necessary, clean the drain, because if it is blocked, water will collect at the bottom of the appliance. ^3

For hygienic reasons the appliance's interior, including interior accessories, should be regularly cleaned.

Caution!: The appliance may not be connected to the mains during cleaning, since there is a danger of electrical shock! Before cleaning, switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker or fuse. Never clean the appliance with a steam cleaner because moisture could accumulate in electrical components and pose a danger of electrical shock! Hot vapours can lead to the damage of plastic parts. Therefore, the appliance should be dried before it is placed back into service.

Important!: Ethereal oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. lemon juice or the juice from orange peel, butyric acid, any cleanser that contains acetic acid.

Cleaning the drain hole

To avoid defrost water overflowing into the fridge, periodically clean the drain hole at the back of the fridge compartment. Use a cleaner tool to clean the hole as showed in the picture on the right.

1) If the condenser is at the back of the appliance

• Do not allow such substances to come into contact with the appliance's parts;
• Do not use any abrasive cleaners;
• Remove the food from the freezer. Store it in a cool place, well covered;
• Switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the mains, or switch off or turn out the circuit breaker of fuse;
• Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm water. After cleaning, wipe it with fresh water and rub dry it;
  • After everything is dry place the appliance back into service.

Defrosting the freezer

The freezer compartment, however, will become progressively covered with frost, which should be removed. Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off frost from the evaporator as you could damage it.

However, when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner, complete defrosting should be carried out as follows:

• Unplug the appliance from the socket;
• Remove all stored food, wrap it in several layers of newspaper and put it in a cool place;

• Keep the door open, and place a basin underneath the appliance to collect all defrost water;
• When defrosting is complete, dry the interior thoroughly;
• Replace the plug back in the socket to run the appliance again.

Replace the lamp

The internal light is a LED type one.

To replace the lamp, please contact a qualified technician.

2.4. Troubleshooting

Caution!: Before troubleshooting, disconnect the power supply. Only a qualified electrician of competent person should perform any troubleshooting that is not in this manual.

Important!: The appliance produces some sounds during normal use (compressor, refrigerant circulation), which is normal.

There is water on the floor	The water drain hole is blocked.	Refer to the Cleaning section.
The side panel is hot	The condenser is inside the panel.	This is normal.

4. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

In order to protect the environment we strive to reduce the volume of packaging used, limiting it to three easily sorted materials: cardboard, paper and plastic. The appliance is manufactured using recyclable materials after disassembled by a specialized company. Please comply with local regulations concerning the recycling of all materials.

Environment Protection

This appliance does not contain gasses which could damage the ozone layer, in either its refrigerant circuit or insulation materials, and it shall not be discarded together with urban refuse and rubbish, as the insulation foam contains flammable gases: the appliance shall be disposed according to the appliance regulations to obtain from your local authorities. Avoid damaging the cooling unit, especially the heat exchanger. The materials used on this appliance marked by the symbol are recyclable.

Disposal of the appliance

1) Disconnect the power plug from the mains socket.
2) Cut off the power cable and discard it.
