Frequently Asked Questions - EW1613 PANASONIC

How do I use the Panasonic EW1613 oral irrigator for the first time?
Fill the tank with water (do not exceed the upper limit), plug in, attach the desired nozzle, press the power switch, and adjust the water pressure level using the +/- buttons. Aim the nozzle into your mouth, close your lips gently, and set the Stop/Jet switch to Jet mode. Start with pressure level 1 to avoid irritation.
Why does my gum bleed when I use the oral irrigator?
Slight bleeding is normal when first using the device, as your gums are receiving new stimulation. This should stop after 1-2 weeks. If bleeding persists for more than two weeks, stop use and consult your dentist.
Can I use mouthwash, salt, or other chemicals in the water tank?
No. Do not add mouthwash, salt, or any chemicals to the water tank, as this may cause malfunction. Use only clean tap water or lukewarm water (max 40°C).
How do I clean the Panasonic EW1613 after use?
Turn off the power, empty the water tank, and run the unit briefly to remove remaining water inside. Disconnect the power plug. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth (do not wash with water). The water tank can be washed in a dishwasher; the nozzle, nozzle stand, and tank cap must be hand-washed. Do not use thinners, benzine, or alcohol.
How often should I replace the nozzles?
The ultrasonic nozzle should be replaced every 6 months or sooner if deformed. The orthodontic nozzle should be replaced every 3 months or sooner if bristles are bent out. Replacement part numbers: WEW0983 (ultrasonic), WEW0984 (orthodontic).
What should I do if no water comes out or the pressure is weak?
First, check that the Stop/Jet switch is set to Jet mode. If the water tank is empty, fill it halfway. Set pressure to level 10 and switch to Jet mode. Insert and remove the water tank several times to prime the pump. If the problem persists, the nozzle may be clogged; replace it.
Can I use this device in the shower?
No. The appliance is not waterproof. Do not immerse it in water or use it near a bath tub or inside a shower room. Use it on a flat, stable surface away from water splashes.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The appliance automatically turns off after approximately 10 minutes of continuous use to prevent forgetting to power off. This is a safety feature and not a malfunction.
How do I adjust the water pressure while using?
You can change the water pressure at any time by pressing the + or - buttons on the water pressure regulator switch. The selected level is memorized for the next use.
What if the power cord is damaged?
The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged, the appliance should be scrapped. Do not attempt to repair it yourself; contact an authorized service center for assistance.
