How do I adjust the chime volume?

Use a small screwdriver to turn the potentiometer on the module. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases. It is preset at halfway.

Can this module be used with a Bose factory amplifier?

Yes, the SOCGM-17C has a built-in audio level adaptor for amplified systems. Connect the male 8-pin connector to the GRAY female connector on the module (labeled 'Bose').

What if my vehicle has a non-amplified audio system?

For non-amplified systems, connect the male 8-pin connector to the BLACK female connector on the module (labeled 'Non Bose').

Does the SOCGM-17C support Y-91 audio systems?

Yes, it supports Y-91 audio systems, but note that it does not retain the Y-91 Premium Bose amplifier on 2002-2004 trucks and SUVs. For those, use part# SWRGM-48.

SELECTING THE AUDIO SYSTEM:

If the vehicle is equipped with an amplified audio system, the SOCGM-17C has a built-in audio level adaptor that outputs the proper audio level from the aftermarket radio to the factory amplifier. To use this feature, plug in the male 8-pin connector on the SOCGM-17C harness to the GRAY female 8-pin connector on the SOCGM-17C module. The module is also labeled “Bose” and “Non Bose” to avoid confusion. (see picture below)

If the vehicle is NOT equipped with a factory amplified system, plug in the male 8-pin connector to the BLACK female 8-pin on the SOCGM-17C module.

CHIME VOLUME ADJUSTMENT:

The SOCGM-17C has a potentiometer to adjust the chime volume. It is set at half way by default. To adjust the volume, simply use a suitable screw driver and turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease the volume.
