Frequently Asked Questions - MG-MTPT1605 MAGNAVOX

How do I set the thermostat on my Magnavox MG-MTPT1605 heater?
Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to increase the desired temperature. The heater will automatically cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
What should I do if the heater shuts off unexpectedly?
Check if the heater has triggered the overheat protection. Unplug it, allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes, and ensure no obstructions around the unit. If it continues, check the tip-over switch and place it on a level surface.
Can I use an extension cord with this heater?
No. Plug the heater directly into a wall outlet. Extension cords can overheat and cause a fire. Ensure the outlet is rated for 1500W.
How do I clean the filter on the MG-MTPT1605?
Remove the filter cover, take out the washable filter, and clean it with mild soap and water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. Clean monthly for optimal performance.
What is the coverage area of this heater?
The Magnavox MG-MTPT1605 can effectively heat a room up to 150 square feet when used on high setting and with proper insulation.
Why does the heater make a clicking sound?
Clicking sounds are normal as the thermostat switches the heating element on and off to maintain temperature. If the sound becomes loud or constant, check for loose parts.
Is it safe to leave the heater on overnight?
While the heater has overheat and tip-over protection, it is not recommended to leave it unattended overnight. Always follow safety guidelines and never place it near flammable materials.
How do I switch between low and high heat settings?
Use the mode switch on the control panel. Select 'Low' for 750W or 'High' for 1500W. The fan will run on both settings.
What does the indicator light mean?
A steady power indicator light (usually red or green) shows the heater is receiving power. When the heater is actively heating, the light may remain on; it does not indicate heating status.
